Well after losing last night, we can almost be assured a blowout by the Phillies tonight, especially with the pitching matchup. Put $50 on the Phillies -1.5 so I'll be rooting against the home team for the first time in quite a while.
tomorrow would be a cool game to go to. should be a private showing of the best pitcher of his era. cant imagine more than 7k being there at a post-summer mid-week day game.

Phillies playing like a disinterested team...don't blame them but good to see Stros taking advantage.
Michaels to miss rest of season with broken left hand Season ticket holders (all three of them) rejoice
Phillies have zero to play for and it's obvious. For gambling purposes, I'd stay away from Philly. They are setting up for the playoffs and not trying to get hurt. Even with Halladay going, it reeks of them going through the motions.
I don't buy that. As long as a team is playing its' regulars and isn't removing pitchers after a limited amount of innings, they are not going through the motions. About the only thing you can do in baseball to not get hurt, is to not crash into a wall chasing a ball, avoid contact on double plays and tag plays and jog into a base rather than slide. Oswalt, Hamels and Halladay are going to be doing their best to shut the Astros down.
After the success we've had against them over the last few years, and even being a Brandon Lyon blowup away from beating Halladay in the first game of the season, I don't believe we are beating them because they are just going through the motions.
Ok so you guys don't agree with Phils going through the motions well Hamels pretty much said that last night after the game and Manual destroyed his team after the game...why is that? They've made a number of errors in this series that they normal dont do and their focus has been off. Not try to downplay the Stros effort because they've done a great job of taking advantage but IMHO we've seen a club who is worried about getting and keeping it's players healthy for October. As for our recent success...last two seasons we've taken care of business in September when the Phils have had zero to play for but we've also played them in April and our record is 0-6 being outscored 40-19.
It's open for interpetation but ,yes, reading between the lines both Hamels and Manual said as much. Praised the Stros for the effort but acknowledged thier lack of effort and focus.
