I hope Drayton sees the stands today, I have NEVER seen so many empty seats for a Sunday day game in April with the ROOF OPEN or closed. Lets add the fact that two great pitchers are matching up and it's a beautiful day, that should speak loud and clear.
Looks like Roy will pitch well enough to win and come up short AGAIN. I'll be very curious to see when the veterans will start to speak up or demand to moved?
well, at least you got rid of Cooper. I hope the clubhouse feels good [disclaimer]I know this isn't a manager problem[/disclaimer]
I doubt our veterans would ever start demanding anything. We've been bad for a number of years now, and at most, they've said they would be willing to lift their no trade clause if the right team came calling...and that was just Oswalt. I have a feeling Lee would be fine even if the team never won a game. And I'm sure Drayton knows full well that the fans are not coming in droves to MMP so far this year. But what is he supposed to do that he hasn't done already? Nothing is gonna make the product on the field better this year or next.
This is not completely true, we stunk in 07 and 09, although we were within a game of first in early July before we went to crap, but we were in the WC race till the last weekend of the season in 08 and the division in 06. You know what Drayton needs to do, no need to say it. Ok Carlos lets tie this puppy!!!
hey The Cat, your boy Towles only has to increase that OBP by .650...ERRRR - .650'ISH - for you to bump that thread and rub it in my face like you planned to. the mouth writes the checks...
Again - what is your solution? You want them to sacrifice more of their future to go from terrible to just bad this year? The last thing I'd want is for Drayton to panic based on attendance and do something rash this season. The team is going to suck this season - and it needs to suck. There's no way around it, and trying to do anything to prevent that just delays the problem further.
