I hate to respond to my own post but in the inning after i posted this, keppinger rips a ball and pence and lee strike out taking hacks at terrible pitches. Hilarious.

With Jordan Lyles at AA now, I sure hope we get to see him at some point this season probably September but hopefully earlier.

That "improved clubhouse" seems to be paying off  Wish it was football season already.

On a side note why is Sean Berry still the hitting coach. I understand it's not entirely his fault, but our offense has blown the past 3+ seasons.

I wish they would of let Brad Mills bring in an entire new staff.

Dave Clark is an idiot at third base and Berry is just "wtf".

Astro's offense is so boring it's almost unbearable to watch.

I agree on letting Mills bring in his own people but Torre, Dave Duncan and Don Baylor wouldn't help this club right now...no point really.

The Astros have scored the fewest runs in the league so far, half the number (6) that the team that has scored the 2nd fewest runs has (12). They've also given up the 2nd most runs in the league.

There really isn't much a hitting coach can do to help make players hit better. If they can really help players, then they'd be getting paid a hell of a lot more than they do. The Astros offense may have blowed in the past three years. But I wouldn't say they underperformed these past three years. You carry a lot of bad hitters in your lineup, your offense is going to suck.

Of course, this doesn't say much about why the Astros should bother retaining such a person. But IMO it really doesn't matter either way.

I'm starting to think Towles is a complete waste of time.

I'm actually starting to think we will improve if we just cut him asap.

Edit: I know what happens now. Towles shows me up. Nah. The magic eight ball shakes and says "Doubtful".

The Rockets don't suck, even without Yao. They're still fun to watch. They're over .500 and just knocked off a couple of playoff teams in Boston, Utah, and Charlotte.

    Now the Astros, they suck.

The pitchers have dug us into a hole in every game. Pence and Lee start to press...with bad results (swinging at bad pitches, etc). Everybody else starts to press to try to make up the slack. Bad results.

I would LOVE to see what happens in a game where we score first. This team is obviously not good at coming from behind.

Keep in mind that the first three series of the season are against teams that are expected to compete for their division crowns. Giants...Phillies...Cards. That has got to be the toughest start in all of baseball.
