Another oppo field dinger for Hunter.

His OPS is over .900 for the past month.

    Why did Cooper pull Oswalt?

I lost reception because of the weather.

    That sucks.

I was actually thinking the other day that they should rest Roy for the rest of the season. I wonder if there is any kind of surgery that can be done for that disc.

Exactly. If we could combine Pence and Tejada into one player who would be consistent the whole year, made an average of their salary we would be so much better...

I don't get it. What does Tejada do better than Pence at this point? Swing at pitches out of the zone?

Tejada actually hits the bad pitches. Pence just misses them.

Pence is getting hot at the plate again. Good to see.

It's often better to completely miss than hit a bad pitch. There is a reason Tejada is leading the league in GIDPs for the second consecutive year.

Tejada also rarely walks because he has trouble laying off bad pitches. Pence has walked three times as often.

Tejada's OBP was down to .328 (below average) coming into this game. Pence is around .350 (above average), not to mention he's a far better slugger.

I meant if you could combine Tejada's 1st half of the season with the second half Pence has been having.

Also just of note. Astros single season records for Triples is 14 and SBs is 65.

Bourn has 11 Triples and 50 steals with about 27 games left. Likely no shot at SB this year, but could get the Triples with some luck

Hawkins looks bad tonight. We'll be lucky to be tied at the end of this inning

Losing is neutral or good for us at this point to be honest. I'm more concerned with how key players for next season are performing. Seeing Roy hurt again sucks. I hope he hangs 'em up for the season and gets treatment or rest or whatever he needs.

The one thing that does suck is Roy gets another ND. He may very well finish with under 10 wins for the first time in his career. He hasn't pitched his best this season but he definitely deserves more wins than this.
