Villareal? Seriously? Coop, we still have a small chance of winning this ffs. Why wasn't Villareal sent down after the Texas disaster. The guy's an unfunny joke

Roy has an ERA of 5.61???!!!

That is scary. Is there something physically wrong with Roy, or has he just lost it?

I know, he still seems to have life on his fastball occasionally, but it has lost it's movement....and he has been up in the zone all year long.

    WTF?

Something has to be wrong. It's either his groin again or he's having arm issues. I'm betting on the groin...which can spread if untreated. That kind of injury only gets worse with continued activity.

Funny how people call it obvious when I have been pointing out his lackluster fastball since opening night.

I was reading something the other day from a few years ago comparing Tim Hudson and Roy Oswalt. It is more specifically interesting because Hudson had what was clearly the worst season of his career at age 30 (2 seasons ago), same age as Oswalt now. I imagine at about the same point in that season in Atlanta people were pretty concerned about their multi-million dollar ace.

Does anybody know details of why Hudson had the bad year or how he turned it around and whether it might apply to Oswalt? Also, does anybody have any thoughts on the applicability of drawing a comparison between the two?

The other thing I was noticing was how many pitchers on the Astros have had problems at one time or another this year with giving up home runs. Is that the GM's fault for getting guys who are susceptible to the long ball? Is it the pitching coach's fault? Or is it just a coincidence?

Well I was going to say maybe he's lost his passion for the game, but then I saw him dive for that pop up bunt. Something must be wrong with his mechanics because I don't think he's injured.

    According to this article:

    http://houston.astros.mlb.com/news/...tent_id=2749943&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=hou

He has a sore hip, which isn't really an injury. It'll probably be gone by his next start. Even he said he was pitching like a minor leaguer and Cecil Cooper says his command is really bad right now. His problems are mechanical, they have been all year. You blaming his bad outings at the beginning of the season on injury too? I'm thinking it's mechanical.
