I thought standard process for a three man crew was for the umps to cover first third and home... why are they covering second instead of third? Or do I have that wrong?

I guess it was too much to ask for the Bucs to beat the Cubs today as well.

Can Nieve throw anything but straight heat?

He doesn't look like a major league pitcher.

Hamels gives up 6 through 4 innings and we are a hit or two away from getting blown out.

Terrible, crappy, pathetic, abysmal, disgusting pitching.

I have absolutely no clue why Matsui didn't go to second and try for the 4-6-3, even with Rollins running. There's seriously no way in the world you're going to get a runner with decent speed (Bruntlett) on a reverse DP with him that far down the line, so why not take out the lead runner?

It's an 8-7 game instead of 9-6 if the umpire makes the correct call and Matsui doesn't have that brainfart.

Ugh. I was thinking leave Sampson out there for one more inning when his spot didn't come up in the order last inning.

Losing Geary really forced everyone into a tougher role. Wright really didn't do that badly (walk, weak groundout, double, groundout, flyout), but you can't put a guy out there with 2nd and 3rd, no outs, and last year's MVP at the plate and expect good things to happen.

Why was there an ump on the 3rd base line when Victorino hit his double but not when Wiggington hit his foul ball towards the line?

That's what I was thinking too. Seems like the far easier play. Was Tejada in position to turn it though?

Right-handed hitters were hitting .404 against Borkowski before that double by Burrell.

Borkowski sucks. Borkowski sucks big time.

Thanks to Borkowski letting the Phillies spray balls all over the place, Berkman may be hurt.

Right-handers must be hitting something like .425 against Borkowski now.
