Erstad should get the save , that was an amazing throw in the 9th !

Its too early to get too excited about this team , but its hard not to .

He hasn't been much of a pinch hitter, but as a 4th outfielder it doesn't get much better than Erstad. Part of me would actually be a little excited if one of the top 3 guys got a minor injury for a few weeks so I could watch him get some extended play.

That was better than a walk off HR in my opinion. I kinda yelled and jumped. Awesome!

Now it's time for UFC Sopcast.

Pirates up to bat, bottom of the 10th, still 4-4.

Adam LaRoche, Jason Michaels, PH (if necessary) due up.

Pirates had no pinch hitters, so with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th, Matt Capps at the plate with no men on and he strikes out.

    Top of the 11th, 4-4.

What the heck does what mean?

Saying "Alyson Footer has a lot of hair" is pretty straight forward.

It was just an odd comment. Most women have a lot of hair.

Bottom of the 12th, 4-4. Men on 1st and 2nd, no outs.

    LaRoche at the plate.

I just got home from the game. The 9th inning was a little too close for comfort. Thank god Erstad was in, because I'm not sure Lee makes that catch and throw.

LaRoche strikes out, Michaels due up with 2 outs. Michaels probably represents the Pirates' best chance of stealing this game. You can't go through the Cubs lineup too many times without giving up a run.

well is my face red... I am utterly shocked... what an unexpected outcome... the pirates face the cubs offensive powerhouse of a line-up time and time aagain.. yet manage to pull out a victory....

After the missed opportunity in the bottom of the 12th, I thought the Cubs would take this one, too.

I can't believe they pitched to Bay. I would have walked him.

Next up was a lefty, LaRoche. Wuertz is a right-handed pitcher.

Bay had better numbers against Wuertz, so it was a tough call. They decided to go righty on righty.

I can expect to win with him on the mound.
