Remember, no PBP in these threads and keep the chatter on topic (if it is about something other than this series, talk about it in another thread). 5-22 Kyle Kendrick, RHP (3-2, 4.76) vs. Roy Oswalt, RHP (4-4, 5.43) 7:05 on FSN 5-23 Adam Eaton, RHP (0-2, 5.59) vs. Brandon Backe, RHP (3-5, 4.58) 7:05 on FSN 5-24 Brett Myers, RHP (2-5, 5.76) vs. Brian Moehler, RHP (1-1, 4.76) 6:05 on FSN 5-25 Cole Hamels (5-3, 2.61) vs. Chris Sampson, RHP (3-3, 5.91) 1:05 on My20
2nd!!! oh wait... WWLW...I think we win another series...I'll be in town so if nothing else, I can see the games...
I don't want to predict, but I certainly hope Roy rediscovers himself he has been awful this year......very Wandy like... DD
Wow, the pitching match-ups move pretty smoothly from day to day along a "very favorable" to "very unfavorable" spectrum.
fixed again. he's had 6 quality starts so far. awful is a really strong word...but relative to what we expect from roy and how much the 'stros pay him, it's probably fair. i'm guessing he'd use that word without hesitation.
I would love for one of our guys to reenact the Pujols bash at the expense of Mr. Lidge. Imagine this scenario: Phillies up 1, bottom of the 9th. Lidge gives up a 2-run dinger, Astros take the lead. Valverde comes in for a 1-2-3 inning and we win the game in 10. That would give us and the Chron writers plenty to talk about. On the other hand, if Lidge enters a game, that means we are likely losing so I would be just as happy not to see him. Qualls looked very good in his first visit back to H-Town. I remember him making Puma look bad. It wasn't until after that series that he had a few blowups.
One thing that has me very excited right now is the fact that we're 1.5 games out of first place, and we have played 28 road games! The Cubs have played 20 and the Cardinals have played 22. Nobody in the majors has played as many road games as us. I think that says a lot. Pugs
Umm if we were to be down by one in the ninth and hit a two run homer. The game would be over. There would be no need for Jose...
Prediction: 3 games out of 4....I really like the fact Bourne and Pence are playing much better lately. All Bourne needs is some time and repetitions...Pence, we all know what's up with that....understandably The big 3 of El Caballo, Big Puma, and Tigueda putting it together. Very exciting... 1.5 games behind breathing hot air on the backs of the Cubs and Cards...Not bad for a team a lot of experts claimed would compete for being the worst in baseball this year....!@
Deja Vu...In 2004 Billy Wagner went to the Phillys and I beleive the stros spanked Wagner the first two times they saw him...IICR Biggio went deep on him one the the times. Nothing changes, if Lidge comes in a save situation or tie game we're gonna win!
It was in September 2005. There's a great picture of Bidge approaching second base with Wagner looking on, but I couldn't find it.
