Paolo outplayed Evan Mobley last night as a rookie. On that note talk about dodging a bullet with Mobley. Jalen is special.
I am convinced Orlando planned on drafting Jabari but the rockets made Orlando second guess themselves when they realized Banchero was at the top of the rockets draft board.
Banchero looked good but this game was two sh-t teams and you could tell. I mean even Jalen Suggs looked good.
Remember guys, there's nothing to be mad about, nothing to regret for Houston. Magic had the #1 overall pick. If they just happened to take the best player in the draft, good for them. Still really excited about Smith in Hou regardless of how amazing Paulo or Chet may be. Don't be haters son.
I had Banchero and Holmgren in their own tier, slightly favoring the former over injury concerns (which sadly proved true). I think he'd have fit amazingly with us. I'm not sure anybody in the Rockets has handles as tight as his. He's gonna be a great player. Great hands, vision, size, and agility. His shot looks way better than expected as well, and he has all the physical tools to be a tough defender. It made little sense to me why most analysts had him at #3 (albeit, there was by no mean true consensus here).
Banchero, Kessler, Mauthrin, Duren, Jabari, and Ivey all put up numbers last night. It was a pretty good night for the youngsters all around. Keegan yet to play but he should be fine as well.
