Backe is walking a thin line today...he's coming dangerously close to getting lit up.

it's kinda sad that woody williams is better at getting guys in from 3rd with one out than brad ausmus and adam everett.

Put a lot of that on Phil Garner... how anyone can be dumb enough to not bring the infield in with a runner on third against the opposing pitcher is beyond me.

Woody Williams is a good enough hitter to where that would be too risky this early in the game. Its not exactly like Backe is dominating the hitters out there, and the team should be fortunate that he's only given up 2 runs to this point.

Man I Hate the REDS !!! I thought they would be dead by now but it looks like the are probably going to take over the N.L. Central who would have thought. I just don't see how they are in contention....Back to Back to Back Homers ?

The umpiring is an absolute JOKE. Took a run right off the scoreboard.

I thought it was too close to call. Therefore, tie goes to the runner.

    That SUCKS !!!

This is looking like a low scoring game, and we just got FRICKEN SCREWED !!!

That was the tying run.......and Everett was safe.

We have no margin for error here....got to WIN as many as possible.

It wasn't too close to call. He was clearly safe. Ridiculous.

Anyone know who the first base umpire is today? If we lose this game by a run and go on to miss the postseason by a game, this is a name to remember.

His career says otherwise... and he was 1 for 1 in this game already.

If the final score remains 2-1, it may be more of an issue... but somehow, I don't see the score remaining that way (with both pitcher allowing constant traffic on the basepaths).

But San Diego has the better late inning bullpen.
