With Benson out for GB and the struggles the packers are dealing with. I predict Foster/Tate to have big games and Dre' outplaying Woodsen on some plays.. The Texans should roll on their Sunday Night Debut.. Hou 32 GB 28
This game and the Baltimore game are going to be great litmus tests for this team as whole, but also for the defense sans Cushing. Wade is going to get to see really quick how his revised scheme is going to stack up against two of the better offenses in the NFL (Baltimore's crapshow in KC aside). I genuinely believe that the offense can score enough on the Packers to stay ahead in this game, and the defense still has enough playmakers in the front 7 to exploit that porous Green Bay offensive line. I think this is going to be a closely matched game though, with both teams poised to win in the 4th quarter. I believe that the Texans are gonna roll to 6-0 though. Texans - 27 Packers - 24
We saw waht a talentless team can do when backed into a corner. What do you guys think the packers are going to do to us? I still think we win but i expect us to be losing in this game at some point and having to battle it out
The Packers are much better than the Jets; the Texans will have to play better accordingly. The Packers are also backed against the wall coming off a disappointing loss. They will be pumped. I would think this will be a tough close game, probably like the Jet game, could go either way. Rogers has protection problems, but if he gets the protection Sanchez got, he will pick us apart. Yes, Sanchez got sacked a few times, but he stepped up into "all day" many others. Rogers is light years better than Sanchez.
Rogers doesn't have a "protection problem", he has a catastrophe of a line. We should be able to get to him all day. Smith and Watt are more than the GB line can handle and god forbid Barwin decide to show up for a game.
Texans are playing at home with what might be, the loudest stadium in Reliant history. The Packers look to be without several key players. I fully expect a solid 10 plus point win. Anyone notice that Foster plays his best in primetime. I fully expect him to have another great game. Is the Packers NT Raji out for the game?
they lost against the Colts (a team in a rebuilding year). Schaub to AJ is much better than Luck to Wayne. Schaub has a lot more weapons than Luck.
This upcoming game will be determined by injuries. I'm not talking about Cushing, for this game at least, the injuries to Finley and Benson will offset the lose of Cushing. The injuries to Johnathan Jospeh, Greg Jennings will affect our defense in the Packers favor because their WR Jones is stepping up in his contract year. From what I've seen, K.Jackson should be able to contain Nelson but Joseph (or Ball ) might not be able to keep Jones in check. Raji being hurt helps our offensive line's interior along with Woodson finally starting to show his age, meaning Williams leaving their best CB as the only DB to really fear. But Clay Matthews is still a premier pass rusher and they are smart enough to move him around so he will probably be picking on the right side of the offense a lot. So I am thinking, we might be in for a shoot out or our a game determined pass rushers from the front sevens of both teams.
We saw what a rookie QB of a .500 team did to the Packers, what do you guys think the Texans will do to them?
Rodgers usually is pretty quick getting the ball out...and he is deceptively nimble on his feet...expect GB to give a run for our money...the team that has the ball down the stretch wins...AJ gets his record...and then some...expecting a huge game from the WR corp...our pass defense is going to be heavily tested...Rodgers is most likely gonna throw 40+ times... Texans: 33 GB: 36
Wayne and Luck have had like instant chemistry...and Luck has been playing really well...and last week's win was won on emotion...for Chuck Recall the Raiders beating us at our house after the passing of Al Davis...
I don't think we can really take away much from the Jets game as far as knowing how the Texans are going to handle the Packers. Offensively, as long as the offensive line can keep the Packers (and by Packers, I mean Clay Matthews) pass rush at bay, I expect to see Schaub get out on those play-action bootlegs, and find receivers down field. This is also a game where having Arian will be tremendous as far as ball control. Keeping the defense off the field for long amounts of time will help them mitigate the loss of Cush, as well as keep Rodgers at bay. If the Packers get into a hole early, and the Texans are able to grind the clock with a solid running game and an effective passing attack, it'll allow Wade to draw up some blitzes and mask our weakness up the middle. I'm really looking forward to seeing how we adjust now that 56 isn't out there.
I don't see this defense giving up 36 points to ANYONE, let alone a depleted Packers team with no offensive line. Our pass rush is still going to be fierce, and Rodgers will be running for his life. If the Texans score 33, there is no way they lose this game. Without Benson and Finley, Dobbins and James will be fine in coverage (they are already good at run stopping) since there isn't anyone to exploit their lack of agility and coverage skills. The Colts held them to 27 (6 in the second half) while putting constant pressure on Rodgers, and they don't have half the defense we have.....even without Cushing.
Lestar Jean was a gametime decision for Monday according to http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2012/10/wade-smith-ben-tate-lestar-jean-held-out-of-practice/ Do we expect him to be active for Sunday night?
The is going to be our first real test. Packers arnt at their best right now, but still team with superbowl potential.
