I'm really glad we salvaged a game. It's like 3 hours sleep out of 10 when you have insomnia. You still aren't getting enough sleep, but it's better than usual.
When your starters are basically 4/5IP guys, it takes a deft hand to finagle competitive innings out of the bullpen, especially on consecutive days. Dusty has done this in the postseason quite well. That's the highest praise I have ever given him.
Plenty to complain about with Baker, but 5 clean relief innings leading to a guy who was 8-9 in 9th inning save situations is not one of them.
We haven't been hitting well since the 20 run game. But we aren't getting blown out. We've stayed close.
I agree. It's just a little benefit for the Astros with how the bullpen is setup. The numbers say he isn't the right guy anyway....
Man, I don't even know anymore. What numbers? Against who? Stanek has the power FB/splitfinger, Montero has the FB/changeup, Neris with FB/sinker/slider....who matches up best with who is coming up? Hell if I know. This is why nobody pays me to make these decisions. Pressly needs to get fully healthy in a couple of weeks for sure.
I am older than JV. Tweaked my calf playing pickleball, wasn't even really exerting myself at the time. Not going to say how long it took to get better.
A calf muscle problem could mean anything fro a painful Charlie Horse which heals quickly to a a large muscle group tear and a long recovery time. Find out what you can and don't trust them completely. Listen to your body. We want the same thing. A healthy YOU. And an extension.
I'm a little older than you, which means I'm old enough to not be dumb enough to play pickleball. I've pulled calf muscles recently, I've had one go full "charlie horse" in the middle of the night, woke me up in shooting pain. Not fun. I recommend a healthy stretching regimen and staying hydrated. And then the next night drink all the drinks you want. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
