Do the Astros have 3 All-Stars this year? Keuchel, Altuve and Springer

Im not sure. Altuve wasn't even top 5 on the list released yesterday (behind Kinsler, Cano, Pedroia, Dozier, Kendrick) and Springer wasn't on the top 15 (he would have to be a fill in, correct?) All the position players are decided by votes and the pitchers decided by coaches, correct? We are going to need fans to start voting like crazy

No, the starting position players are decided by votes. Altuve has been the best 2B in the AL this season. He's pretty much a lock to be added to the roster.

Keuchel will too, if this continues, as will Springer (could see him being an injury replacement...I think Trout and Harper both were IIRC). I wouldn't be surprised if Springer is even picked for the HR derby, if this streak of ridiculousness continues.

Missed me by about 15 feet. That ball was a rocket. It looked like he shortened his swing. It was a 3-2 count when he hit that pitch. I think they were trying to walk him because Altuve took second base.

Oh really? It's just the starting position players? Never mind then, I can see that happening now.

Altuve hasn't been if you look at WAR. Even traditional stats show Kinsler & Cano to pretty much be his equal. I think he should make it, but it isn't a lock.

It is very important for this team to keep winning. They'll be reluctant to take 3 all-stars from a last place team.

We are only 9.5 games back of Oakland.

People, it is time to believe!

Luckily, the players and managers likely don't even have a clue what WAR is. He's leading the league in hits and steals and is probably a popular player because of his diminutive size...analysis doesn't really need to go any further than that. Of course, he can fall off a cliff in the next month in a half, but, if rosters were chosen today, he'd be a lock.

I'd bet Springer ends up getting on as an injury replacement or that final vote deal if he keeps mashing.

Altuve won't be voted in. I doubt he'll be the player/coach vote either. That leaves Manager Selection. He should be a lock, but he's not. If he played in NY or Boston, he'd be a lock.

Is their game going to be televised on MLB TV tonight? I thought I read something like that yesterday.

They are required to put at least one Astro on the team. Springer is a longshot to get in any other way than injury replacement or final 5 vote. That leaves Keuchel being the lone representative as the only way that Altuve doesn't make the team. I can't imagine that happening.

Altuve will be on the team unless he slumps badly in the next 1.5 months.
