Now that's an intriguing possibility. He could be the next great WR in the NFL, he could be the next Justin Blackmon/Josh Gordon to waste his talent with stupidity. The ONLY reason he'd be available at #16 is because of his issues off the field.
You have no expectation of anything but garbage for the next two years . . .. is that correct nothing in 2015 or 2016? Rocket River
I have no expectation of any great QB's on the horizon, that doesn't mean that one couldn't "come out of nowhere" as it seems happens every now and again. Part of it might be the college game not creating many great QB's because of what works in college that doesn't work in the NFL. You can go a long way with a VY/Manziel/Tebow type of QB in college, you can't go anywhere with those in the NFL. Since they work in college, more of them are cranked out.
Why wouldn't he want to stay at FSU? He is coddled, allowed to rape coeds, steal crab legs and do whatever the he wants.
He put Hakenburg out there as a true freshman who didn't go through spring training with the team, takes a lot of guts and trust to do that. Plus during the hiring process his dad revealed that he and BO'B were pretty close. Something tells me he really likes the kid. I think he has a lot of potential tbh I remember when DGB came to LSU for a visit. I though there was no way this guy is still a high schooler. He's pretty much the same size as megatron right now. Not as fast but still an athletic freak
He has the physical tools of Megatron, but there's no way we would target DGB. If you don't think McNair would get Winston, why would he get DGB? They are "tainted" so to speak. DGB was arrested on two charges of mar1juana (not TOO big of a deal), but his dismissal from Missouri raised huge red flags because of the incident where he kicked down the apartment door and pushed a woman down the stairs. He wasn't charged, but in light of the position the NFL has taken w/ domestic abuse, I'm sure McNair would stay away. Plus he hasn't played for a year.
Ah, I guess I didn't know about the incident where he pushed a woman down the stairs. I only knew about the weed.
Yeah, he is an amazing talent though. The comparisons to Randy Moss aren't just given out to anybody. He will While we're on WR's, if we draft an AJ replacement early, Jaelen Strong would be a great replacement. He's big, physical, and has great hands. Kinda reminds me of AJ, but not sure we would go WR in the first round so early after we drafted Hopkins just a few years ago. I would love Devante Parker, but I can see the Vikings trying to pair him up w/ Teddy Bridgewater again though and they have a big need at WR.
I dunno, I heard the Randy Moss comparisons with Stephen Hill and that didn't work out too well. That said, I like his size and I've seen good things, but the off the field issues are troubling. I don't think we go WR in the first but I don't think I'd complain if we did.
The Houston Texans might not be in position to get a franchise quarterback in this year’s draft, but they should at least look to add another weapon for the passers they do have. A potential fit could be Minnesota’s Maxx Williams, who stands out as the top tight end in the 2015 draft. Houston selected C.J. Fiedorowicz in the third round of the 2014 draft, but he’s more of an in-line blocker than a downfield receiving playmaker. Williams, on the other hand, is a dynamic target who can either be in-line or flexed out as a receiver, and create mismatches all over the field. A very good athlete at 6’4” and 250 pounds, Williams would give the Texans a go-to target in the middle of the field, and one who can be a reliable short-yardage/red zone threat while also having the potential to create big plays. When Texans coach Bill O’Brien was with the New England Patriots, his offense was often predicated around the use of multiple tight ends playing complementary roles. In Williams, O’Brien could get his own version of Rob Gronkowski. Though Williams is slightly smaller and not as strong of a blocker as Gronkowski, he brings a similar skill set to the field. Williams, a redshirt sophomore, announced his intention to enter this year’s draft on January 2. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...round-outlook-after-wild-card-weekend/page/17
This is clutchfans so it will be exactly like last year... Lol. People can't even bring up a guy for discussion without posters like Mr bobbythegreat or Mr cannonball calling them stupid. Good thing is the NFL won't drag the draft out like they did last year. Considering O'Brien is out of the New England camp he may not care as much about off the field issues. No one has seen enough tape on him to get a solid opinion... Lol. But I've seen enough of the other players to know I do not have a preference in this draft. But was just bringing him up for discussion.
Does anyone feel like Corner is still a position of need we could possibly address at our pick? Marcus Peters out of Washington is rated as the Draft's best coverage corner, but their are some behind the scene concerns with his dismissal. However, he is once again, the Draft's best coverage corner and he is also a physical hitter at 6'0 198 lbs. Does anyone think assuming if he checks out in an interview, that we should draft him? I don't see why not, if we are once again drafting by BPA and need.
Maybe but not necessarily as a first or 2nd day pick. Every team could use depth at DB. I think the Texans have more pressing needs.
