I would love for the Texans to get in on a Drew Brees trade, but I seriously doubt they even discuss it.

"retirement" in this case is just leverage for more money from the Texans who clearly want him. He doesn't want to quit playing.

Bowers has a really, really bad arthritic knee. Top ten pick before it was found, ended up mid/late second rounder. At the time, the consensus was that it would end his career, if he played long enough, only a difference of opinion on how many years he had.

Reporting at the time made it sound way worse than Nix's was, though that may not be accurate.
