This is such a refreshing change from Kubiak hiring crap coaches and then keeping them around way longer than he should have (e.g. Marciano, Bush, etc.). BOB saw that Dunn wasn't so hot and fired him immediately. Nice.

Is Arian that kind of back?
I wonder how he will do in a different blocking scheme

I learned not to doubt Arian when he is on the football field injury free. The guy is a special talent no matter the scheme.

I'm not a fan of smash mouth football.

Foster may be good for one more year. Running backs typically do not last long. I'm a big fan of Foster, but he is traveling down the Earl Campbell road. Campbell, who now can hardly walk and sits in a wheel chair most of the time, is my favorite running back -- college or pro -- of all time. I buy his sausages every time I go to the grocery store.

What makes you guys think the offense is going to change? He's an O-line coach, not an offensive coordinator. He's there to teach the guys to block better, not completely overhaul the offensive system.

Foster probably had his best year last year.

When he played, he was a superstar and every bit as good as Demarco Murray.

If the OLine doesn't execute, it doesn't matter what play BOB calls, it won't go anywhere. The OLine is basically the key to having execution. Of course, there are other elements, but if the OLine doesn't do its job, then the other positions won't even be given a chance.

I thought the OLine play was significantly better from the Cleveland game onward. Prior to that, our pass blocking was complete ****.

More so even. Murray is almost 100% a product of a really really good run blocking O line. His yards before contact this season was more yards than most RB's have total yards in a season.

Yeah I'm thinking his job will be to coach up XSF, Ben Jones at center and possibly the rookie drafted to replace D-Newt should he end up leaving.

Assuming we don't have an upgrade at QB next season, next season is going to be a down year.

We are aging at key positions and are probably going to cut some key players like JJo, Myers and maybe Cushing + Andre. We also have a tougher schedule next season.

Assuming we don't hit a home-run in the draft, I think we will win around 6-8 games next season. BUT we will be much better off in the future for it and will have over 40m in capspace in 2016 off season.

    Current cap space : $10,853,785

If we cut cut Chris Myers and JJo....

Our cap space balloons to $25,353,785

    Note:

I highly doubt Cushing gets cut. Cutting him normally will cost us 13m which will lower of cap space by 5 mill and a June 1st cut only saves us 1 mill

I stated earlier in the thread that I think the Texans will draft a offensive lineman (OT) if a good one falls to them in the 1st round. I still think that and I wouldn't be surprised if they drafted another one at some point as well.

Yea, Foster isn't one to make it a habit of looking for contact and or trying to bulldoze defenders but I don't believe you necessarily need a power running back for a power running game. I actually think it has more to do with the play in the trenches...

But they're ranked # 8 in pass protection Rez...!!! ;)

How much does it go up to if they cut AJ?

All that cap space doesn't mean Cushing is safe if they don't want to keep him... Or it means they can keep both of them especially if AJ restructures his contract. It may depend on what they choose to do in free agency.

    34m with Andre.

You only save 1m if you June 1st cut Cushing. Not really worth cutting him over that.

I ask about Arian because. . . from what I have been told
BO'B is not a ZONE BLOCKING Guy
    and
Zone blocking is more finess smalled lines .. .
If he goes SMASH MOUTH . .then he gonna get some HOGS
and the offense will have to change to fit the personel

I took it he was working with what he got . . but as he puts his stamp on the team
it will move to a different block philosophy

more like BOB is not a 1 system guy...

he wants the OL to utilize both power and zone schemes.
