Yeah but Wilfork is over the hill and it would make the Texans pretty susceptible to a hurry up offense forcing the fat man to stay out on the field for several snaps in a row which would hurt our defense.
The philosophy is to stop then run then throw out complex schemes to confuse teams in bad situations. Wilfork will get 1 snap and you wont hear from him again until it's 1st and whatever again.
he proved himself a legitimate starter. that's more than you can say for just about our entire stable of linebackers

Sure, that's the idea, but he can't get off the field if the other team goes with the hurry up. The issue will be his endurance against teams that do that.
People saying things like Wilfork would only play 25% of the snaps or that we'd be susceptible to the hurry up offense don't know Wilfork. He played nearly 75% of all defensive snaps for the Patriots last year. He's not a rundown only guy. His usage has evolved over the years and he now slides into one of the DT roles in 4-3 and can slide into a DE role in the 3-4 along with playing NT.

this reads like he went on an eating binge over the summer and doesn't know how to play being fat...he has been fat for a pretty long time. I would say staying healthy is a bigger concern than what he would offer when on the field
