I fully expect the Eagles to run off 5 or 6 wins in a row at some point this year. They have too much talent to not do that. But it'll be a case of too little, too late.
That's my exact thinking too. One thing I do worry about is the players quitting on Reid and the coaching staff. I don't expect Reid to be fired during the season but if the players quit it could up the chances of that.
Yeah you pretty much covered up the problem. Also why do the Eagles do a lot of playaction when they don't run the ball enough to set up the playaction. Calling playaction is setting Vick to take more hits. Really Philly offense is built to make big plays down the field but it's tough to do that when you don't have a line to block that long. Reid has went back to not handing the ball off to Mccoy too.
call me crazy but i'm picking the cowboys this week. new england's 19 game home win streak will fall...as well as their 30 points or more consecutive games streak (whatever it is (okay...maybe this won't fall but might...lol)). cowboys are healthy again after bye week. miles, dez, and company will run circles around new england's secondary. our secondary is healthy. scandrick been doing major homework on wes welker. our defensive front will harrass brady. romo really wants to make up for the detroit game and should be extra focused. cowboys always play tough after an embarrassing loss. coaches have had two weeks to watch film and formulate a gameplan. noone expects cowboys to win. cowboys will outscore pats in the end. i may officially be off my rocker...but i'm picking the cowboys. i expect every analyst out there to pick the pats and say cowboys have no chance...which is why they have a chance. everyone will understate the cowboys' chances this week because of what romo did last week. my position for this game is same as playing @ new orleans a few seasons ago when everyone picked us to lose but we won and gave them their first loss of season. if cowboys aren't ready for this game after the bye, then f them. they got this. (Insert picture of Jim Carrey's character in "Dumb and Dumber" saying he's got a chance with the Lauren Holly character here).
Lil Pun, please elaborate here. This was one of the weirdest things that happened during the offseason. What public rationale did the Eagles give?
All I have ever heard was that Castillo wanted the chance to coach defense, asked for it and was given his chance. So far and needless to say, it's been disastrous.
Cowboys will go into the 4th quarter with a big lead and Romo will be looking like Elway. But in the end Romo will help the Pats out by giving them the game in the last min. I think Romo likes to lose.
Castillo needs to be fired immediately for the way he tried to use Asomugha. Andy Reid has never been one content to stick to the run, even in the Westbrook days when McNabb had bull**** receivers to throw to, he'd plunk it down the field.
They used more man this past game and Nnamdi was good. Hopefully, the trend continues. Right on about Reid, you always know it's going to be a 60/40 pass/run offense with him.
absolutely agree. Nnamdi has always played man since he was in Oakland. And he was danged good at it. So why are you making him play a zone defense where he has no experience and where he isn't really good at it? Let Nnamdi and DRC and Asante play man on the outside. Keep the safeties low and stop the run.
A healthy Cowboys team is SCARY. They're pretty stacked except for their O-line. The Pats can't stop anybody, so expect the Cowboys to put up a ton of points on them. It'll be a shootout. The Cowboys have a chance b/c their defense is pretty damn good themselves.
In Houston, Fox has PHI @ WAS for the early game of their double-header. Of the four choices, that's was the worst one IMO.
What I've been hearing a lot of from the Philly media and fans is that if Nnamdi is one of the league's best cornerbacks then he should be able to play zone just as well as man. I think that is a bit ridiculous myself. Do they think Manning or Brady would thrive in offenses based on the run? Do they think Peterson could be used like a Ray Rice and lineup wide several times a game? Aren't some linemen better a pass blocking than run blocking and vice versa? And so on and so on.
He should be able to play zone for that kind of money (and I think he can, just needs time to adjust). I do however question the coaching staff's decision not to play mostly man to man when you've got 3 Pro Bowl corners. Moving Juan Castillo to DC was a mistake. You also think the Eagles would have realized how important linebackers are when they were they had to bring back Jerimiah Trotter years ago, beacuse they couldn't stop anybody on the ground.
He can play zone, my point is that he excels at man coverage just like the other players I named excel in specific areas or schemes.
Help me out guys.... Im in a football pool and the tie breaking method is to guess the combined score from the MNF game without going OVER.... I picked 34, I dont think Miami will score that much and Im thinking Jets offense still doesnt put up huge numbers...... I feel safe at 34
