Matt Flynn paid off one big game.

Matt Flynn released by the Raiders.

Before the game started, was I way off for thinking it was obvious the Falcons would blow out the Jets?

As a Falcons fan never expect for them to win easily.

If the Falcons lose, The Texans will look a little better to me. NFC championship contender going down 1-4 possibly, wow.

Geno Smith's rookie season reminds me of Andrew Luck's rookie season, being thrown to the fire with a flawed team, a LOT of turnovers, but each week getting better. With the way he is throwing the football he might eclispe 4,000 yards passing

I know it's early and Geno Smith will probably throw 2-3 picks before it's over, but the Falcons look broken, sort of like the Texans. They aren't the same team as last year.

    Jets might pull this off.

Or maybe they're just not an NFC championship contender...

who would have thought before the season that the Jets had a shot at 3-2 lol, arguably should have won the Pats game

Falcons are a mess. Maybe that's not the right word or too harsh but...

Where do you want to start?

    Offensive line is a mess.

They signed Jackson, barely have gotten anything out of him(injured).

Roddy and Julio have been hobbled I think.

Pass rush? Anywhere? Lost Abraham and Lofton in recent years to free agency. They signed Osi to replace Abraham, or try to anyways, ha. They lost another DE, Kroy Biermann, to IR.

No-name linebackers out there. Sean Weatherspoon is also on IR(will return later).

Asante Samuel has also been hobbled. They released Dunta Robinson. Not a lot behind Samuel. They did draft Desmond Trufant.

With all that said, it's not like they've been blown out in any of their games so...although 1-3 is 1-3. Maybe 1-4.

1-4, that's probably tough to come back from.

    Bye

Damn Sanchez sucked. Jets had Keller last season and offense still underperformed.

Mike Smith should be slapped for running the ball up the gut on the final play of the half. Jets D has owned the line the scrimmage and there was no reason to think that play would be successful.

Only an idiot would have gone for it there. That's not even an opinion based off hindsight. They had a chip shot to get it to a one possession game, and they run it with little Jacquizz Rodgers on the goal line?

    Jesus...

Please, before the start of the season it was a 3 way race in everyone's eyes between them, Seattle and SF in the NFC. 13-3 in 2012 losing in the Con Final in the waning seconds, 10-6, 13-3, 9-7,11-5 in 2008. I would say they were more of a contender in people's eyes than the Texans, not in my eyes (I am a homer) but other's eyes.

Yeah I had no problem going for it (with seven seconds left) but with the do-over and one second left, just take the points.

The Falcons have failed to convert their last 7 4th down attempts in which they needed 2 yards or fewer for a first down
— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) October 8, 2013

    That ain't good.
