I LOVE Steve Smith. The guy leapt 40 inches off the ground, caught the ball with one hand, pushed the guy to the ground with the other, and ran 50 yards for a td. And what is he? 5'9. This guy is unreal and a hall of famer, and if he had stafford throwing to him, he'd be even more sick. CJ is unreal too, but Steve Smith is some kind of player I've never seen before.

Steven Smith has been making plays for many years. Maybe you've missed him all this time. But right now, he clearly isn't as good as Calvin Johnson.
Watching Jay Cutler CONSTANTLY under pressure is pretty depressing. Although the guy can be straight up comedy sometimes, I think this guy would be really good with a great O-line and some good receivers. He has the talent, just not around him.
chicago's O-line is just so bad, I didn't see 3 offensive plays where he had time to get settled before making a throw. This was easily a winnable game for the Bears if they could give Cutler even 5 seconds to get the ball off.
Let's not get carried away. I love Steve Smith and he is pound-for-pound flat out ridiculous, but Megatron is on another level. He makes jump balls in double coverage look routine. Did you even see that TD grab in triple coverage last week? Or the otherworldly one-handed grab in double coverage the week before, about which he casually commented about how it was a routine thing he'd practiced many times before? Seriously. This week was the first time this season that he failed to catch two touchdowns in a game. And that was on a 136 yard effort. The guy is a complete receiver. Plays in the slot, plays out wide, moves the chains, is flat out uncoverable. Steve Smith is awesome and obviously a big-armed QB like Newton brings out the best in him. But he's no Calvin.
Best had a breakout game , if the lions can be more consistent with the running game , lookout out Packers . Packers and Lions are both 5-0 .
Last year, Best had a 3td game against me. This year, he more than doubles the best rushing game of his career. I really think he just has it out for me.
Smith is easy to like, and amazing to watch given his size, but that doesn't make him better. As great as that catch was, Calvin does similar things. Last year against the Bears: <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SM-pCIAg01w?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SM-pCIAg01w?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> Stiff armed them again this year on his way to the house, and the Bears are a good defensive team.
Welcome to my life, the O-line has been such a big issue. Add to that injuries (Gabe Carimi & Chris Spencer) this year and it's just a perfect storm of crap. Culter is more than capable with time, even a little bit. Would be nice if the WRs didn't drop every other pass. Winnable game last night if the D doesn't have 2 total meltdowns for TDs.
Without either of the two long TD plays, the Bears might have won. Their season is on the brink. They need to figure things out in a hurry. Detroit won the game but they didn't impress. Very sloppy. Neither team was ready to play.
It was a very sloppy game, this was my first full look at the Lions and they looked alrighty but hardly world beaters. Bears really need to get their act together on D, as bad as the offense has been this season that's been more of a nawing issue. Peppers getting hurt last nite didn't help.
I wonder how the Cards fans are feeling about getting Kolb and being 1-4 in the weakest division in football. Niners seem to have their things together with a head coach and an improving Alex Smith.
Roman Harper said he hit Steve Smith late in the endzone because Smith was showboating. Smith wasn't even showboating.
The AFC South might give the NFC West a run for its money as the worst division in football this year if the Niners keep this up.
I would have to agree. It is pretty pathetic division this year. Manning was the division. Texans look like the same old Texans.
