How fortunate are Brady/Pats to be facing the inept Jets this week?

Any other respectable team would be making them pay for their lack of offensive execution. Those rookie WRs aren't quite up to speed on the playbook; it's driving Brady crazy.

Interesting how the announcers say every incomplete pass is the WR's fault.

Having said that, they really need some better WR play to be contenders.

He's looking pretty good in the pocket. Better than the 1st half when he was rolling right on almost every pass play.

But the real story here is the WRs. I realize the Pats are shorthanded, but the Jets wideouts clearly have more talent/experience out there tonight.

Agree. Tough to get a running game going when your passing attack is virtually nonexistent. WRs aren't coming out of their routes with their heads turned to the ball, and they're dropping tons of passes.

That said, Brady is also struggling with his deep ball. Some are overthrown, others have too much air. Jets can actually steal this one but they won't.

It would be great if the Jets could do as a favor and turn this game around but it appears to be over.

They need to get rid of thursday night football completely. I know it's just a scheme to pimp NFL Network, but it's just bad. Has there EVER been a good game played on Thursday Night Football? I don't remember any. Most of the time the teams have less days to prepare so the game ends up being terrible.

I would never want my favorite team to play on thursday night football.

Very winnable game for the Jets but that's the Jets for you.

Seahawks Eagles of 2011 comes to mind, and I'm sure there was a good game of the 14-15 last year. Tebow vs the Jets too if you want storylines.

They should just matchup teams coming off of bye weeks for the Thursday night games.

Mangold just launched himself at Talib's knees -- out of bounds, I might add.

Of course, fight erupts. Crazy start to the NFL season.

IIRC there's a very one sided statistic where the home team has a huge advantage on Thursday night games. And it's almost always because it's such an ugly game and one team manages to suck a little less than the other team.

The quality of play is certainly much worse for these games.

Talib was dancing around NEAR the sideline for a while. There was no reason to think he was gonna step out, mangold launched as he started stepping out. I have no problem with the hit
