Interesting week. A few matchups that I think will be tougher than expected. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Giants fall again, nor would I be stunned if Cleveland all but ends the Bengals hopes by upsetting them here. Chicago continues what will be an impressive season in my mind. Detroit-San Fran, Chicago-Green Bay and Denver-Atlanta were definitely good picks for the primetime games.
Chicago at +6 looks tempting. That team has a lot in common with SF, and the Packers look like a disorganized lot at the moment.
I’m very interested to see this version of the Bears play the Packers. It’s tough to take too much from the Colts game but after watching the entire thing it does seem clear that with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, Cutler has some play makers in the WR Corp. Bush looks like he’s going to make the RB position even stronger and keeping Forte fresh. Throw in Hester and Earl Bennett, this is going to be a much different and more explosive offense than the Packers faced last year. Urlacher is still on the mend but getting the 2nd half off this past Sunday should help, rest of the D looked strong, they just kind of lost interest from time to time vs the Colts. Should be a very good game between them on Thursday night.
I may be the only one but I am interested in seeing the Baltimore - Philadelphia game. Two reasons: 1. Perhaps Vick didn't play enough during the preseason to get a feel of the upcoming regular season. I have a hard time believing that was rust in the Cleveland game. Rust, in my opinion is under or over throwing open receivers or similar types of things. Vick genuinely looked like he did not know how to read a football field. Primary receiver is covered go to your secondary, secondary covered, go to your check down. He didn't do that. I've mentioned before how the pressure and mistakes may have gotten to him and the offense as a whole because what the media has failed to report and what most people didn't see is how good the Eagles were looking on their first few drives until penalties brought back nice gains. We'll see if there is improvement going up against a much better defense in Baltimore. I'm also interested to see if there is overall improvement from the offense. More balanced play calling, less penalties and better pass protection is a must for this game. If there's is not both of these, the Philly crowd will let the team, especially Vick have it. 2. Flacco, Rice and the entire offense looked excellent against Cincinnati, which has a pretty good defense. The Eagle defense looked excellent against Cleveland but they were going up against a rookie quarterback, running back and just an overall mediocre team and barely squeaked out a win. This should be a good test for the Eagles defense to see if they truly have fixed some issues that plagued them last year as the Ravens look like they can move the ball through the air or the ground.
Without Grimes Peyton is going to pick apart our secondary. Probably would have done that with Grimes but it's going to be a long season without Grimes.
THU, SEP 13 Time TV Location Chicago @ Green Bay - Chi - the wheels start to come off for GB SUN, SEP 16 Time TV Location Kansas City @ Buffalo - Buf - Both teams got ganked last week, but Buf is at home New Orleans @ Carolina - Car - NO is circling the drain, that team is already in full-blown panic mode Cleveland @ Cincinnati - Cin - Joke of a game, but somebody has to win, pick the home team NOT starting a rookie QB Minnesota @ Indianapolis - IND - Minnesota looked bad last week, and Ind played one of the best defenses in the league, so at home, Luck's first game, Ind wins Houston @ Jacksonville - Hou - Texans by double-digits again Arizona @ New England - NE - This isn't gonna be pretty, Cards could lose by 30 Tampa Bay @ NY Giants - TB - Tough call. NY has no secondary, but TB doesn't have much of a passing offense. But NY is reeling, TB smells blood. Baltimore @ Philadelphia - Bal - Philadelphia is another team ready to go down in flames, especially now with Wash on the upswing. Oakland @ Miami 12:00 pm - Mia - Another tough call. Miami actually played well last week, they just had an incredible string of bad breaks. Dallas @ Seattle 3:05 pm - Dal - 3rd-round rookie starting QB, plus Dallas now has a good secondary, long day for Seattle. Washington @ St. Louis - SL - SL is smarting from letting one slip away last week, and Wash game-planned for weeks for NO, but not for Fisher's Rams, RG3 comes back down to earth. NY Jets @ Pittsburgh - Pit - I would not want to be the Jets this week. Pit embarrassed by Manning in the most-hyped game of opening weekend, Jets will pay. Tennessee @ San Diego - SD - Titans are going nowhere this year, and this week their free-fall begins. Detroit @ San Francisco - SF - Detroit is like the Forrest Gump of NFL teams, but SF is too good, the score will probably be something like 38-30. MON, SEP 17 Time TV Location Denver @ Atlanta - Atl - Should be a good game, but Atlanta has too much firepower and they are at home and on a high.

Peyton has experience picking apart Robinson. But unless D.Thomas stiff arms the hell out of his CB again it'll be a lot of the same short routes but with surer tackling from the ATL LBs. It could be alot closer on the modest side of scoring. Denver pressure from Elvis, Miller, Wolfe should rattle Ryan's cage a lot more than a Tamba-less Chiefs D.
Marshall Newhouse is a total disaster at LT for Green Bay. No other QB besides Aaron Rodgers could have had such a historic season last year while dodging pass rushers on his blind side. He's true to form already with one holding (not called) and then giving up a sack on the first possession.
