Don't underestimate the power of fantasy football. Most leagues are done, and these games were largely meaningless.
I picked Seattle as my project/pet team at the beginning of this year and it's great to see them and their defense playing out of their minds right now.
Amazing how much having a legit QB can do wonders for a team , Once the Rams drafted Bradford , they have a chance to be 8-8 after having horrible seasons in a row.
Can't believe Seattle couldn't close on that drive. I think the Texans have trained me to root for teams like these...
This game is supposed to be interesting because it's essentially a play-in "playoff" game but it's boring as ****. Can't decide if I'd rather watch the Blazers continue to pull away from the Rockets or this. Eh, Terrance Williams just checked in so maybe I'll watch that.
The refs have basically handed this game to Seattle, really. A lot of questionable calls have gone in Seattle's favor here.
Honestly, Seattle making the playoffs (where they will lose to New Orleans) does nothing for them... other than exploiting a loop-hole that should be fixed in the NFL. Teams like the Bucs and Giants should be allowed to get into the playoffs over teams like the Rams and Seahawks. Maybe they can add another playoff game mid-week when scenarios like this develop between the undeservinvg division winner and the other team that "should" be in the playoffs.
Coaches are amongst the stupidest people on the planet. For St. Louis, there is no benefit whatsoever of holding onto their timeouts until after the 2 minute warning. Common sense should tell them that in that situation, ALWAYS take the timeouts immediately. If they did, they'd get the ball with 2 minutes left. Instead, they'll get the ball with about 1:35 left. Not that it's likely to matter in this game, but so many coaches just don't seem to understand very basic math.
they really ought to make some kind of rule that in order to make the playoffs you must have a winning record... and possibly give all teams with the better record homefield advantage... of course if that happens, the texans may *never* host a playoff game
What a dammmmmm shame , a 7 and 9 in the playoffs , this will def make the NFL think about reseeding the teams for home field purposes.
Or just reseeding the teams based on conference standings. I'd be much more excited about a possible rematch between the Saints and Bucs, rather than watching the Saints and Seahawks.
I think you'll see division winners with terrible records traveling to WC teams before you will see division winners with terrible records not being in the postseason.
