Some Philly fans. I actually thought that the Cowboys had the personnel on defense to stop the Eagles. After containing Jackson for the past 3 games, I don't see how they let him go off this game and I definitely didn't see McCoy having the game he did either. Both of those guys had career best nights. I also thought the Cowboys offense would eat up the defense, especially without Samuel. Witten had a big game, as he usually always kills the Eagles but I expected more from their running backs and Austin.
The Cowboys have talent, no one doubts. I think it looks good for Garrett also, remember, he's playing with a 38 year old career back up.
Speed kills. Would have been a more interesting game if Dez Bryant were playing...as it may have helped counter whatever Jackson did out there with what Dez did. Basically, two plays cost us this game. The bomb to Jackson at the beginning...and the Jenkins wiff and Jackson run in the second half. You can't let those plays happen if you want to win the game.
Next Monday night is the Bears @ Vikings. I'm not sure if they can get the roof fixed in time. I think they should play the game at Reliant Stadium. The Texans are on the road next week, so the field won't be chewed up. The Texas Bowl isn't played until the 29th, so plenty of time to get ready for that game. Most importantly, ESPN already has its trucks at Reliant. It would be easy logistically to have the teams play in Houston. Would you go see the Bears and Vikings play if the tickets were free?
Ok just watched the Desean Jackson interview. I don't see the big deal. I have seen athletes do that a few times when it is 2 guys being interviewed. You see it a few times in the NBA.
Houston is just too far away. ESPN wouldn't worry about moving their trucks, they do that every week. If anything, they'd have it in Detroit again. Or possibly the University of Iowa, Minnesota, or Wisconsin's stadium.
First time in a while catching "1st and 10" Forgot how much of a moron Skip Bayless is. Even though he doesn't condone the Jets coach, he can understand the guy's actions, since they're former athletes and are so pumped up during gametime. What the hell is that?
Because shows like that needs a guy who says some off the wall things. I think he is just doing that for entertainment.
did you see the part when homeboy was acting the fool during Vick's portion of the interview? Come on. Is that how you would behave on national tv?
I saw it but I don't really have a problem with it. Was watching the Magic vs. Clippers and Brandon Bass was about to have an interview and Jameer Nelson jumped on his back. This isn't the first time a teammate acted that way. I understand that doesn't make it right but I don't know I just don't really have a problem with how he acted in the interview. Personally with my personality I would not have acted that way because I'm a laidback guy but that is what makes Desean Jackson who he is.
Think they'll probably play at the University of Minnesota, since they'll have more lead time, would still be a negative for the Vikes since they are a dome team.
One of my vendors has an office that looks out on Ford Field. He said they were lined up 4 deep all the way around the stadium as early as 6 am. The wind chill when I spoke to him (about 10 am eastern) was -5. You have to figure that 95% of the city of Detroit can't afford to go to a NFL game typically. It's a great opportunity to catch one for free...if you can make it there and home w/o incident.
That's what I was thinking. How many Lion fans are going to pack the stadium and root against the Vikes. I'm hoping Minnesota can pull this one out though.
well, it could be like when the Astros had to find somewhere to play after IKE. roofs, not worth the problems?
I don't know the logistics of it, but if they are going to have replace the fabric on the roof anyway, it would have been kind of cool if they just tore the rest of it down and played an outdoor game in that stadium. I don't think there were any structural problems with the stadium itself - just the inflated roof.
