You are aware that this type of thing happens to Rodgers every game right (he leads the league with 32 sacks)?
Does anyone here remember Kaepernick from college besides the infamous Boise State game where Boise's kicker missed the two easy FGs that blew their perfect season? Was he a pinpoint passer at Nevada? I wouldn't describe Kaepernick as RG3 lite, yet. They are both very athletic and have cannon arms, but I've got to see this guy play a few more times. Looking forward to it very much.
He played for Nevada, so it's hard to say what the competition was like, but looking at his Wiki page, he's apparently all over the NCAA recordbooks. I had heard of him, but never thought anything of him because he played for Nevada which was not doing anything special. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick 2010 season Entering the 2010 NCAA season, Kaepernick ranked first among active college football players in rushing touchdowns. He was second in Yards Per Carry (behind Wolf Pack teammate Vai Taua), Total Offense per Game, and Touchdowns Scored. He ranked third in Yards per Play and fourth in pass touchdowns and Total Number of Offensive Plays. Kaepernick was a counselor at the prestigious MPA event in Thibodaux, Louisiana, during the 2010 camp. He had an impressive showing, drawing praise from various NFL and ESPN personnel including former New York Giants QB Jesse Palmer who said of Kaepernick, "by far, the strongest arm in the camp". It was also announced that Kaepernick, along with teammates Taua and Lippincott will have a display in the College Football Hall of Fame commemorating their being the first players in NCAA history to each break 1,000 yards rushing on the same team during the same season.[6] Kaepernick was named to the watch list for six major college football awards: the Manning Award, the O'Brien Award, the Paul Hornung Award, the Maxwell Award, the Unitas Award, and the Walter Camp Award. On November 26, Kaepernick led his team to a 34–31 overtime victory against the previously undefeated Boise State Broncos, snapping a 24 game win streak that had dated back to the 2008 Poinsettia Bowl. This game was played on Nevada's senior night, the final home game for Kaepernick and fellow notable senior running back Vai Taua. Nevada Head Coach Chris Ault would later call this game the "most important win in program history." During this game, Kaepernick surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for this season, becoming the first player in NCAA history to have over 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing for 3 consecutive seasons. Along with Taua's 131 yards rushing in the game, the duo became the NCAA's all time leaders in rushing yards by teammates (8,285) passing the legendary SMU "Pony Express" duo of Eric Dickerson and Craig James (8,193). On December 4 against Louisiana Tech University, Kaepernick joined Florida's Tim Tebow as the second quarterback in FBS history to throw for 20 touchdowns and run for 20 in the same season. Later that same evening, Auburn's Cam Newton joined Tebow and Kaepernick as the third. Kaepernick's three rushing touchdowns in that game also placed him in a tie with former Nebraska QB and Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch for most rushing TD's in NCAA history by a quarterback with 59 in his career. Nevada claimed a share of the WAC title after defeating Louisiana Tech. Kaepernick is the only quarterback in the history of Division I FBS college football to have passed for over 10,000 yards and rushed for over 4,000 yards in a collegiate career. Kaepernick is also the only Division 1 FBS QB to have passed for over 2,000 yards and rushed for over 1,000 yards in a single season three times in a career (consecutively). (Armanti Edwards, quarterback at Appalachian State from 2006-2009 amassed career totals of 10,392 yds passing and 4,361 yds rushing at the Division 1 FCS level to become the first NCAA Division 1 quarterback to pass the 10,000 yd passing and 4,000 yds rushing marks.)
i'm the biggest packers fan EVER! and let me tell you, if the defense wasn't the best at creating turnovers three seasons ago Arin Roygers would have been in another one and done scenario. Roygers sux! 4 defeats lmao!! I am packer fans though! seriously! signed, fantasy dork that hangs out on texans forum who claims to be a fan but hates every player on the team. (annoying right?)
i think harbaugh is screwing the 49ers chances this year not going back to smith. smith isn't happy and colin k. will be figured out after a few games once teams get more film.
I noticed how Smith kept his helmet on all game yesterday. Stone face when Kaepernick ran in a TD. He's definitely pissy about this. But oh well. He's a Kyle Orton-class player, and Kaepernick has looked fantastic in his two games. I don't see teams being more successful "figuring him out" than they were against Smith. Smith had a nice 1.5 year run, but he doesn't give them a better chance to win. The 49ers that played yesterday are a much scarier team.
Messed up? Bush is trying to get the ball to his family behind the kid and his mom. Nothing messed up about it.
i agree they are scary but not because of colin k. they scored 2 pick sixes on defense and won by 10. that defense is scary good. look at rg3, luck, tannehill, wilson, they all had min slumps in the middle of the year. colin k. will hit his midseason point when the playoffs start!?!?! i'm telling you it's a bad idea what harbaugh is doing.
Crazy week in the NFL this last week: Sanchez running into his own player's ASS and fumbling Texans TD that shouldn't have been Sprinklers coming on during Dolphins game Chargers letting a 4th and 29 dumpoff pass to the RB turn into a 1st down
I don't know what was funnier: Mark "Shawn Bradley" Sanchez or the sprinklers in Miami. Unreal stuff.
Upside. Ceiling. Alex Smith is like Leinart, Carr. Check down central. Kaepernick can get the ball down field. He throws a great ball and is super fast. Reminds me of RG 3.
Alex Smith has the 2nd highest yards per attempt in the league this season, tied with Peyton Manning and behind RG3.
