After watching this, I think the Raiders may be in the same position as the Texans. You can pencil them in as division champs and they will get a home game in the 1st round. The MIN, MIA and KC games guarantee 8 wins. Obviously the Chiefs and Broncos aren't legit and I can see the Chargers finishing 6-10. They are losing their grip on the season.
Oakland just lost 28-0 and 38-24 at home to KC and Denver. I don't see how @KC can be a guaranteed win. That team is a total crapshoot each week.
They will be a lot better next time around, since Carson Palmer has now been playing a few weeks, and McFadden should be back. That said, no game in the NFL is a guaranteed win. We saw St. Louis beat the Saints. We saw the Jags beat the Ravens. It happens in the NFL. You certainly shouldn't discount division rivalries.
Yeah OK. But it looks like Carson Palmer will steady the ship enough that we make the Raiders strong favorites based on the Chargers collapse. Norv needs to go.
Good for Palmer. The Raiders needed that one in the worst way. Well, so did the Chargers. But clearly, Rivers and Norv are incapable of stopping the bleeding.
is it Norv's fault that Rivers is a turnover machine this season? maybe Rivers needs to go? if this were Dallas, then Romo would be getting hit hard right about now two ways from Sunday. Rivers seems to be getting by with little publicized flack...unless i'm missing it. Norv has been pretty successful in SD in the regular season...so it's kind of funny to see SD lose four in a row after starting strong.
Yes, I blame Norv. I didn't watch the game entirely, but I saw on two different occasions where a receiver apparently was clueless about where they were supposed to break and go up for the ball. One resulted in the ball going right through the DB's hands, the second resulted in an end zone interception (and involved Vincent Jackson of all people). That is a coaching failure. It's one thing if you're dealing with a bunch of backups/rookies who don't know the offense, it's another thing when your veteran players are clearly confused on offense. Coaching fail. Norv needs to be put out of his misery.
Darren McFadden needs to get healthy and get on the field. He would help out Carson Palmer much more than Michael Bush can.
I don't buy the "coach isn't on the field" argument. I'd keep Rivers and toss Norv in a second. Not absolving Rivers. His picks against the Packers were terrible. Very poor judgement.
Might be a while. He's still hobbling around on crutches. Slowest. Healer. Evarrrrrr. I know DMC might have broken a couple of those long runs but what more can you ask from Bush? 242 yards from the line of scrimmage and a TD, great pass protector, durable, reliable (doesn't fumble). This would have been a great game even for DMC. Bush isn't flashy and he doesn't have explosive speed but he's better than 1/2 the starters in the NFL. I'll be shocked if he's not starting somewhere next year. His situation reminds me of Turner when he was behind LT. Bush should could/should be a 1200+ yards/10+ TD guy. His floor as a starter I would project as being 1000 yards/ 8tds.
Nobody cares about your fantasy teams, this is the NFL thread. Hopefully Nicks is out again I need so more Victor Cruz mojo after VJax was blanketed by UH Cougar, who was way better than UT alum Quentin Jammer who was repeatedly smoked by Denarius Moore.
