http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...-jarrett-bush-says-49ers-really-didnt-beat-us Packers need to sack up. The 49ers dusted their asses, and so did the Giants.
Playing pass happy football while your rely on an opportunistic, bend-don't-break defense won't work in every case. San Francisco is a complete team and very tough to beat when Alex Smith is on point.
Was the block in the back on the Cobb PR as obvious as the Niner play-by-play guys made it sound? If so and I lose by 6 tonight, I'm gonna be pissed!
They were acting like it was an obvious block in the back, but honestly I think the guy was pushing him in the shoulder, so it wasn't a clear cut by any means. I've seen way more egregious blocks in the back go uncalled.
This was one of the few NFL games I've watched while sober over the past 3 seasons, so I'm fairly certain it wasn't a textbook block in the back.
Really classy of them, 49ers controlled that game throughout for the most part. If you get beat, just be respectful of the other team and move on.
If they played last year , Packers would of won. The additions of Manningham and Moss makes them a complete team. Texans vs 49ers in New Orleans .
I don't think the Texans can get past Baltimore if they have to travel there again. I wouldn't be surprised if they do, but I'm expecting Baltimore to take the next step offensively this year. Torrey Smith is about to explode.
I'm sure J.R. already posted this somewhere, but just in case.

Falcons CB Brent Grimes is out for the season with an Achilles injury. Torrey Smith's about to show the world he's on Wallace's level. If that happens, only a Jacoby Jones special teams fumble will derail the Ravens.
2 more tweets about Grimes' injury. I feel bad for ATL.

What a loss for Atl in CB Grimes. Next 8 games: Peyton, Rivers, Newton, RG3, CPalmer, Vick, Romo, Brees. I think that a lot of the talk surrounding him has gotten into his head, especially after what happened last season. I think he wants to stay in the pocket and make those throws to disprove the doubters. I saw several instances where he could have taken off for a gain instead of just throwing the ball. I saw several other instances where he could have dumped the ball off instead of throwing it where he did. Seems like he had trouble reading the field. Bottom line is he has to do better than that. A few things that are largely not Vick's fault was the blocking of the offensive line, the play calling and the penalities. 1. The pass blocking was just plain horrible yesterday. They have to do a better job that that if they expect this guy to survive. As you said, those hits probably did start to take their toll after a while. 2. The play calling was simply boneheaded. At one point late in the second and third quarters, McCoy was averaging over 9 yards per carry. Andy Reid has a top 5 back on his team, a running game that is working, the lead on the road yet he decides "hey let's chuck this thing 50+ times today". Then on the pass plays he was calling for deep balls to be thrown. Vick worked that last drive pretty well by dumping the ball off for short or intermediate gains. Yes, you have DeSean Jackson on the team but that does not mean you have to go for the home run every pass play. 3. Then there were penalties. If you saw the game early, then you saw the Eagles were picking up some great yardage on the first few drives building a rhythm and flow but a lot of nice plays were being called back for holding or other penalties (12 for 110 yards overall). Just like those hits Vick was taking, when your teammates begin to make idiotic mistakes, it can wear down on you and I think you saw that a lot going into the second quarter. The good I saw: 1. As mentioned, early on the offense was clicking and in a rhythm. Penalties and turnovers took all the air out of it though. If the Eagles can start like this in future games and minimize mistakes, they'll be OK. Question is, can they? 2. Demeco Ryans. Guy was getting hammered by the Philadelphia press for his play in the preseason but he came to play yesterday. If he can keep up that level of play over the season, the Eagles got an absolute steal from the Texans. 3. The play of the defensive backfield. Yes, they were going up against a rookie QB but they made some pretty good plays. DRC with two picks in great coverage, Coleman with two picks one of which sealed the win and Nnamdi with a great hustle play to save a touchdown on a double reverse. We'll see what type of resolve they have this weekend as they face a good on both sides of the ball Ravens team.
