please do not forget to reiterate this throughout the site when idiots continue to say and throw baseless insults at Kobe. The hate Kobe receives always goes overboard on this site.
If your not going to buy a game because Kobe is on the front that is kind of lame...who cares it's not like your going to look at the cover, your playing the game..
There is a legitimate reason to be excited about 2k10, judging from how good 2k9 is compared to 2k8. These guys seem to outdo themselves every year.
Just Durant's. I read about a few others awhile back too. I think Griffen was a 79 and Curry was a 76. http://www.pastapadre.com/2009/09/24/kevin-durant-rating-in-nba-2k10 Screenshots of ratings may be up later tonight at Operationsports.com Edit again, they are starting to show up.
Go visit operationsports for the rest McGrady got hosed!!!!!! Actually... forget about McGrady. Hayes' defense ratings are blasphemous.
The shot animations looks awkward to me. In that LAL vs CLE clip, players keep taking the same looking jump hooks whenever they shoot around the basket, whether they're a big or a perimeter player. Not realistic.
I knew these ratings would be an issue. It's inevitable that they'll screw up ratings every now and then but it is more drastic if all the ratings are lower. I would always gripe if Iguodala was rated higher than Yao. But, if the ratings were 92 and 90 respectively I would care a lot less than how it is now, 84 and 83.
Seems fine to me. Its just scaled lower. Jordan was rated 86 in NBA Live 96. Its all about perspective. You are just accustomed to seeing a certain number.
There's a difference between all numbers being scaled lower and ratings being spread out. So, great players (like Lebron) are great at EVERYTHING like they usually are in games but now good players aren't even good at the all things that they are good at. Is it realistic that Lebron would shut down Al Horford, David West etc. in the post? That will happen with the ratings as shown. It would be fine if all the ratings were scaled down and guys like Kobe, Lebron, and Wade were only good at the things they're really good at instead of everything. I'm glad I don't play online much, I don't want to see what the kids do to take advantage of this gap in ratings. But, we'll see when the game comes out...I might be way off.
WHY DO THEY GIVE CHUCK A C+ POST DEFENSE RATING???? That guy is an A+. He is already at a disadvantage being 6-6 in the game, so they decide to screw his post defense as well? It REALLY pisses me off. This is why I can't play online. I am going to edit ChuckWagon, and stay offline...
I don't know what all goes into developing these games but they can't get a team of 1-2 guys that knowledgeably knows the NBA well enough to accurately represent even the "lower" end players? Sure, it's Chuck Hayes, but it makes the game seem sketchy when they can't even nail down a rather obvious attribute.
Exactly. I know that Live is worse, but this really bothers me. After all the national coverage we got last year against the Lakers I thought FOR SURE they would get Chuck right. It really is sad... Chuck is a very good player...NOT a scrub. Any knowledgeable basketball fan knows that... DM knows that, JVG knows that. NBA 2K should know that...
You have to keep in mind that that particular rating you see is an all-inclusive post defense rating. Meaning it also incorporates things like his block rating. Also the tendency slider houses ratings like hustle, contesting shot tendency, etc...
Chuck could have an (at least) A- in post defense even with a poor block rating in 2k9. So have the weights from individual ratings changed from last year? Nah, not to this degree, they just f***** up. Obviously, we can all see some inadequacies in Rockets players' ratings but no one here knows all the rest of the teams so thoroughly. Fans of other teams are no doubt disappointed how some of their lesser known players are rated. So it makes you wonder, how accurate is the game really? Edit: Just noticed, LOL at McGrady's perimeter D.
