You're the manager. Who do you put in the rotation and who do you put in the pen? And who are the odd men out? You can also select one of the rehab guys to stay at AAA until they are needed. Pitchers returning: Javier Arrighetti Garcia France McCullers Walter (let's assume he's ok) Manager Moves: I've got Arrighetti, Garcia and Walter in the rotation. I've got McCullers, Javier and France in the pen. Javier is very familiar coming out of the pen. McCullers just can't start any longer with the control issues. Get him to command just 3 of his pitches. If you go to a 6 man rotation, I'd select France. Odd men out: Alexander, Gordon, Gusto, Ort, Contreras, Neris.
WIN! Series Win.... Almost got that 4 game sweep out of mind....It'll help if Seattle and Arlington lose today.
LMJ pen - let him throw his curve 1 inning at a time until it blows out. Garcia pen - has plenty of experience Arrigheti start Javier start - May only go 4 innings but that's what Garcia is for. Walter and France spot start when needed.
Starters 3. Arrighetti 4. Walter 5. Javier 6. Garcia To minors Alexander (starter) Contreras Gordon (starter) France (starter) IL McCullers with another injury Cut Neris Bonus: Dubin (one MR to minors)
I don't think people are giving Walter (if healthy) nearly enough credit. He was looking like a legit #3, something none of those other guys have come close to recently (or in some cases, at all). Garcia wasn't a good starter before he got hurt, which was a long time ago. He never adapted to the pitch clock. Wasn't amazing before that, tbh. Rotation: Walter, Javier, Arrighetti To Pen: McCullers, Garcia (can fill in as 6th starter as necessary) To AAA: France, Gusto, Gordon, Ort, Contreras, Alexander
If the A's can take out the Mariners again tonight then the division lead will be right where it was at the ASB.
Which, considering all of the injuries and some subpar seasons from regulars, is pretty freakin awesome. #EspadaMOY
You guys are about to j*zz your pants on unsubstantiated rumors...more than likely, nothing reported is going to happen. It will be some random trade we never expected, if any.
I, for one, have absolutely no expectations of getting Shohei. [looks meaningfully in God’s direction]
Bullshit. It is actually rare for a potential trade to be as heavily reported on as this Correa trade and it not actually happen. The only 2 times I can remember being anywhere near this were Bryce Harper and Zach Britton. And in the years since it has come out that both trades were agreed to fully by both sides but the owners on the other side stepped in and changed their minds at the last minute.
Show me the reports outside of "Astros are interested" https://www.foxsports.com/articles/mlb/twins-correa-says-talk-of-return-to-houston-isnt-serious
Pretty serious inability to read between the lines. You’re citing a quote from Correa ACKNOWLEDGING THE POSSIBILITY and his reply is “it’s not serious”. Do you actually think the front office would approach their highest paid and most well known player about a potential trade if it wasn’t serious? So in your mind, the Twins GM got call from Dana Brown asking about Correa, and without any further discussion the Twins GM went straight to Correa and was like “hey it’s not serious but would you approve a trade to Houston?” Meanwhile he has been held out of the last 2 games with mystery “lightheadedness”. Ok dude.
If any? I can almost guarantee we make a trade. You act like we haven’t consistently added at the deadline over the years. We ended up getting the best starter available just last season lmao
