Berkman: 26 HR in 86 G/343 PA Pence, Lee, Johnson: 24 HR in 266 G/1114 PA Pence, Lee, Johnson, Wallace: 28 HR in 358 G/1444 PA (not including today's game) The Astros have also played 2 more games than STL (STL in action now on ESPN if anybody cares to watch... Lance: 1-1, BB, RBI) and play in a more hitter-friendly home park. Busch is actually among the least hitter-friendly parks in baseball. So while Berkman has clobbered HRs on the road (20), he'd probably have at least a few more at home playing in most any other park. Bascially, Berkman is having a remarkable season while we are having a power outage (at least as far as HRs). STL stumbled into one of the greatest FA signings of the last few decades. I heard LaRussa still believed in him but nobody saw this coming. Berkman could not play another game and already have outperformed his salary. If STL somehow makes the playoffs and goes on to win the WS, Berkman will become a STL legend in a matter of one season. As is, Cardinal fans are already infatuated with the guy. It's just a shame we traded him at an all-time low. I don't blame Wade at all for that though. Nobody saw this coming and I'm sure McLane was against the idea of trading Berkman any sooner.
lol... saw that coming. Fair enough. repped* *first time I've said that but I do rep a lot of people... just hate announcing it openly or in the rep itself... too DD-ish.
