Great trade, that was the most dominant any pitcher has ever been in an Astros uniform. It was ridiculous. If it wasn't for the terrible scheduling of games in the playoffs, and Kevin Brown didn't start half the games in the series, the Stros would have made it to the WS.

Yea, I know. Thing is I worked in San Jose for about a year a couple of years ago and I remember hearing he has good potential on local radio. Not sure how true it is but they were speaking highly of him at one point. He's still fairly young. He may end up fitting in nicely behind Lincecum and Cain if he can command the ball a little more consistently.

I went to game one of that series and Brown was dominate just crazy good...Randy was good too but Brown ended up with like 17 strikeouts it was wild.

I bet Uribe is hoping Sanchez gives up a hit. :D

I know, I know... things may have played out differently if Uribe made that play. Still...

    2 outs from the no-no.

I didn't follow them that closely but I remember the name. I know they have some good prospects in the system... Posey, Baumgartner?...

You think? I didn't get that impression... he was running straight back and the ball was well hit. I think his only concern was catching the ball, no attempt to be flashy.

I'm sure Uribe feels bad but who knows how things would have played out if he made that play. It probably took a tiny bit of pressure off Sanchez when the perfect game was out the window. He still had 5 outs to go at that point.

Still, incredible performance, even against the Padres. Pitching is looking pretty healthy in SF right now.

If Sanchez can finally make a breakthrough and Johnson can come back healthy, the Giants would look pretty good with Lincecum, Cain, Sanchez, Johnson, Zito. Johnson is losing it and Zito has already lost it but those aren't terrible options for the end of your rotation or wherever they fit in.

Apologies for the derailment. The Stros game is over and I figured it would be interesting to baseball fans who weren't aware it was happening.

    Resume Astros talk...

I love being above .500, hopefully it comes tomorrow.

Insane how we are only 4 games behind now.

Sampson has really been struggling. Lucky to pull out the win.

I have gone to the last three Astros games ( 4 if you include the resumption game). Last night was one of the best regular season games I have gone to in a long time.

The crowds still suck, but if the Astros keep playing like this, people will start coming.

Wow this was the game that got me hooked on sports in general....Scott was dominant but I remember Johnson pitching a game vs the Reds at the Dome and they looked like a little league team. Reds got one hit the whole game, it was a triple in the 8th and we where only up 1-0...he proceeded to strike out the side in 10 pitches...just a remarkable performance to say the least.
