WWWWL Zimmerman's going to mow down our line-up. The guy can deal. Other than that, I don't see any problems with beating the Nats.
disagree. Scott Olsen and John Lannan have both pitched really well lately. Oswalt will out-duel Olsen. WLWWW
so, for the suspended game.....what's the score? Just go to 0-0? Or if they are continuing, what is it?
Lannan almost walks as many people as he strikes out. He has a rather large WHIP as a result. Olsen's last two starts have been good, but overall, he's just not been that great. In addition, we chased in for 5 ER in 5 IP last time we saw him. I just really like Zimmerman's stuff. He has the potential to K a ton of people, and we know the Astros really like to swing.
If we win both games tonight and the Brewers win, we'll be 2 games back of 1st place in our division. If we lose both games tonight and the Cardinals win, we'll be 5 games back of 1st.
Ahh... didn't realize it was a day game. Well, if we win both of our games, we'll be 3 games back. If we lose both, we'll be 5 games back. Still a signficant variation.
umm... Lannan has had a 1.14 WHIP over his past 7 starts, dating back to May 31st. He is 4-1 over that span with a 2.70 ERA. No, he doesn't K a lot of guys...not a huge deal for a pitcher like him. Olsen got shelled for 3 straight starts (incl. the one you referenced against us). Then he went on the DL. Now he's back and has had 2 straight good starts off the DL. More than a coincidence.. And he certainly has the potential to K a good number of people too. He's still pretty young, too, at 25. But yeah, Zimmerman is solid. At least he doesn't work too deep in games most of the time, so hopefully we can get to the pen against him.
