The Heat made it the Finals this year. In Cleveland, Lebron was knocked out before the Finals each of the last three years. Yet you say that if Lebron really wanted to contend, he should have stayed in Cleveland?

Really? Failure, getting to the finals in there first season, beating both the Celtics and the Bulls? Not 1 team in the NBA wouldn't trade positions with the Heat right now. Pat Riley has a two year plan, not even he would of thought, they would of got this far so early.

You can debate until your face turns blue. The fact is the Heat lost in the Finals. The cherry on top of everything was LeBron's repeated 4th quarter failures in all of their losses.

The glow from this will last all off-season, next regular season, playoffs, etc until the Heat trio wins a championship (if they ever do). Over the last couple of days, I watched LeBron's "Top 10 plays from 2011", same for Wade and other Heat highlights. It was very enjoyable to me knowing they fell short against the Mavs.

But keep on bringing it! I respect you for sticking up for your team.

it was a failure man, accept it. the 3 came together to win a ring and they failed to do that.

as long as the heat treat this past season as a failure, they'll be a stronger team next year.

although lebron remains the best player in the L, he was EXPOSED vs the mavericks. besides the mental aspect, he can work on his game even more to elevate his team.

It was a failure. The Celtics did this their first season with a much lesser Big 3

Getting knocked off before the finals doesn't make you any less of a contender.

Lakers were contenders these years no?

If Lebron wanted to contend he would stay in Cleveland. He came to Miami to Heat, not to contend, but to win. Anything less than that is a failure.

Unless Lebron's plan was to get in the finals every year and get knocked out. In that case, good job Lebron?

They came together to win a ring, as every team plays for, but the Heat knew that had some holes, that would cause them issues this year. They were surprised they made it this far, from what I heard, and only thought that had a real good chance, when they got past the celtics.
They have a low payroll compared to the other big teams, and need to stock up on MLE players like Dallas has over the years.
Next year I would expect them to go further, as they will have a chance to cover some holes.

Not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4 not 5 not 6 not 7... And at there current rate maybe not any. The arrogance of their pre championship celebration last summer made their humiliation in the finals so sweet!

However you slice it, the Heat were up 1-0 and were celebrating a 15-point lead at home with about 7 minutes left in game 2. Not finishing that off probably cost them an NBA championship. Losing game 6 was a bitter end to the season. There is a reason Bosh broke down and went to his knees on the way to the locker room. There was a reason Dwyane Wade said he was still depressed 3 days after it was over. A team can't win multi-championships until they snag the first one.

Maybe they win the whole thing next year and your optimism will be more accurate. Maybe not. But trying to paint a rose on what happened just doesn't fly right now. It was championship or bust and will continue to be that way indefinitely. The "monkey" on their back is bigger than ever now.

I can see Lebron, Dwayne and Miami fans are ecstatic with this success. Even Bosh can't control his emotion, sobbing to the ground in happiness!

It was a definite failure considering the expectation they put on themselves to win now. I think the arrogance of the Miami heat had rubbed off on Octovianus. Dudes acting like a douche and hasn't learned to stay humble even after what had happened. Karma is a **** and I hope you get a taste of it some more.

Every team in the NBA would trade rosters with the Heat right now, they have the best chance to win a ring in the NBA next year. So to say current rate not any, not even the biggest Haters think they don't have a good chance next year.

What's wrong with being Arrogant? It's how you have to act in life, to get any where these days.
The Fans put the exception on, as well as the players, but the Heat front office didn't, and last time I checked Pat Riley was in charge of the Heat.

Also, you were one of the few people to actually pick the Heat to beat the Cetlics and Bulls on this board.
The Heat lost, and Lebron played bad, yes I'm annoyed, but the Heat will get only better, so there is a great chance, the Heat will have another shot next year.

Absolutely nothing wrong with being arrogance as most championship team are, but it doesn't mean their fans should be. That would just make you look like a conceited idiot(See Sactown).

I completely disagree with you on arrogance being required to get anywhere. That is total nonsense.

    But on topic,

Your Miami Heat equation: Arrogance + Getting punctured in the Finals = Oh well, it was a great season anyway

Does not add up. When extreme arrogance loses (especially when it gets soooooo close to the prize), there is no satisfaction. Just an empty disappointment. For the Heat, their arrogance raised the stakes, added pressure to the journey and made their defeat all the more crushing. The load will be even heavier next season.

Maybe it's in my line of work I guess, where you have too.

Next year will be a lot less pressure, as DHoward and CP3 will take most of the Headlines, plus the Heat will have 4-5 new roation players to help them out.

Also, no use being quiet, then brag if you win, I rather have someone being
cocky and talking the talk, and hoping he walks the walk.
In the NBA, it's what you need to do, to get those extra Dollars, being shoe deals, sponsorships etc.
