What's the deal with Mike Miller? He was a great player last year, and he's been back in the lineup for, what, a month now? Does Spo not trust him?
He came back from injury while the Heat were in the midst of winning 21 out of 22 games. It didn't make sense to shake things up while they were still hot.
Well, they aren't hot now and he played < 10 min yesterday (he did play more minutes the prior two games). I understand that the coach is worried about him costing games, but he can't be jerking around his minutes game to game if he wants Miller to get into any sort of rhythm.
Honestly, I'd lessen the role of the traditional PGs-- Chalmers & Arroyo-- and start LBJ, Wade, and Miller as a three-guard unit (LBJ would play PG on offense and SF on defense, Wade SG/PG, and Miller SF/SG). Give Miller 25+ min for a while to get his rhythm back. He's better than James Jones (who can back him & Wade up) and needs the time to prove it.
After winning 20 out of 23 games, a mini slump is not to be worried about. Every team has them during the season, and its better to have them now, then later on in the year. I'm sure Miami is waiting, to see who will be released soon, as they could use a upgrade in a couple of positions.
I don't think the record is nearly as important as establishing the rotation... although I guarantee that Miami wants HCA over Boston and LA for sure. This is why it's so important to get Miller going; he's a great player and absolutely essential to win it all, because you can't (in theory) leave him open which means you can't double off him, which opens up all sorts of lanes for Wade & LBJ (the cornerstone of the Miami offense). I don't know what Spo is doing.
lebron showing why he can make any team look good. and his post game is underrated. he just doesn't do it consistently, so when he does it, it's out of rhythm. he needs to make a concerted effort to post up at least 40% of the time. he's just so physically dominating..
Nice win by Miami without Bosh and Wade, and they still scored over 120 points. Looks like a coming out party by Miller, and good to see Chalmers starting over Arroyo.
Looks like Lebron is now starting to post up more, that Bosh is injured. He was 6 of 7 from the field from post up opps against the Raptors.
Lebron also played power forward that game, and had 36 points and 10 rebounds. Wonder if he keeps playing this good at PF, they will slide Chris Bosh to the C, when they face certain teams, and put Miller in the starting Line-up. If he keeps getting this good in the post, it will spell trouble for a lot of teams in the finals, as it will give Miami a new weapon, that they didn't have at the start of the year.
is lebron james' post game underrated b/c he doesn't do it enough? check out these stats. This season, James has scored points on exactly 50 percent of his 56 post-up plays that resulted in a shot attempt or foul, according to Synergy Sports. Last season, that number was 58 percent. In fact, no player in the league with a minimum of 100 shot attempts in the post generated a higher point of possession on post plays than James did in 2009-10. Bosh ranked second, with Dirk Nowitzki, Zach Randolph and Tim Duncan rounding out the Top 5. per ESPN i think the fact that he doesn't do it enough makes people think he "can't" do it. with bosh being out, it's a blessing for him as he is forced to play in the low or high post more often. and the heat are saying this will continue even when bosh returns. great coaching.
