Not surprised DeGrom, Scherzer are hurt. What happened to Carrasco? I was at the game and didn't hear anything.
Left leg appeared to be hurt. They may have been watching it indicating an undisclosed prior injury. Back injury covers a lot of territory. Sciatic nerve possibly.
DeGrom has been injured all season and the Mets are still ballin Impressive series for the Stros Yordan is buckwild right now and great pitching
I'm hoping, but I don't think anyone that has been primarily a designated hitter has ever won the MVP since the DH was created back in the 70s. Maybe he gets a silver slugger.
Yordan plays the field just enough. Also having universal DH now will mitigate the "stigma". Lastly advanced stats that measure a hitters true impact to wins can't be ignored regardless of whether you have a slugger play the field or not. Granted, Yordan will have to be miles and miles and miles ahead of the pack to overcome the DH label.
I agree with this. Not to jinx it but what has surprised me is all the walks Bregman keeps getting. How do pitchers put him on base in front of Alvarez? The longer the season goes on, the more likely that light goes on and Bregman starts getting meatballs. I like his progress. If he recovers to even 2017 Bregman that will be a plus and help reduce the need from 6-9 in the order.
