Matsui is relatively patient. He takes pitches. But looking at his career numbers, he doesn't walk as much as you would think he does. I made that realization last year. He has a patient approach but doesn't convert that patience into enough walks. I don't think his eye is good enough to match his patience.

Only 160 walks in nearly 2200 career plate appearances. That's not much better than Tejada's career walk rate. He also strikes out more than twice as often as he walks.

you guys been discussing that Aaron Boone took BP pregame? Didn't realize he was trying to come back this season still.. could be an offensive boost at 3B--esp. if Blum has to take some time at 1B with Puma out

That's incredible. I thought he was going to retire. Good for him, if the doctors cleared him.

I don't see how he is really an upgrade over Blum/Keppinger. I only see him as an upgrade over Michaels as a pinch hitter, but then you need another OF. I guess they could always call somebody up from AAA, and send Kata back down.

Went to the game last night... awesome crowd, the stadium was filled to capacity. And there were times it felt electric; almost had a playoff intensity here and there.

I will say they though, why do some people feel the need to come to the game, get drunk and make asses of themselves. If you're gonna get drunk and talk all game and not pay attention to what's happening on the field, go to a damn bar. So annoying.

Wow, I find myself hoping the time will fly till game time.

Been watching all season, but it's really starting to get exciting.

I find it interesting that Ed Wade has softened his stance on any deadline deals being made....THERE IS HOPE!

Is there an article about this some where?

Drayton loves being in the hunt for the post season. You can tell from our last few post season pushes.

There's no way he wouldn't spend some more money if we remain this close....

Or, alternatively, go to the outfield bar...where you can get hammered AND watch a live game AND no one cares.
