Remember, no PBP in these threads and keep the chatter on topic (if it is about something other than this series, talk about it in another thread). 7-24 Johan Santana, LHP (11-7, 2.92) vs. Mike Hampton, LHP (5-7, 4.63) 7:05 on FSN 7-25 Jon Niese, LHP (0-0, 5.91) vs. Russ Ortiz, RHP (3-4, 4.33) 6:05 on FSN 7-26 Livan Hernandez, RHP (6-5, 4.93) vs. Brian Moehler, RHP (7-5, 4.92) 1:05 on FSN
Let's keep the momentum moving! At minimum I hope we take 2-3. If we can take it tonight, I think we can go for the sweep.
WWW Tonight will be a tough game...I think its a one run game though...Mets give Santana no run support and there offense is a joke with all there injuries. Hampton is due for a strong start so I can see 2-1 or 3-2 Stros. Sat night should be interest and slow...Cant stand how Ortiz is so slooowww but hey as long as he wins I am cool. Stros should win this one with a good offensive showing. Sunday should be a much more interesting game look for Moehlor to continue pitching well...Livan is a battler but again Stros should score some runs off Livan. Stros should sweep but with Santana going today is really up for grabs slight advantage Mets.
We just need to take 2 of 3. This series displays why we need another starter. Surprisingly though their ERAs are fairly reasonable for a 3-4-5.
astros sweep the mets are a minor league team......it sucks cuz i have a bunch of money invested in this weekend. not looking to sell tonight cuz johan is in town got the young professionals pack for sat night if anyone is interested. will sell at face value. sunday, i'll probably go...
I think Astros will crush Niese and Hernandez. Johan Santana is a challenge, but I'll say Hampton will have it going tonight and shut down the Mets. Astros win 3-1 and sweep the three game series. SWEEEEP!
Their offense is all sitting on the DL....but we have our 3,4,5 starters going.....interesting.....I think key here will be pitching Wright same way we pitched Pujols. Give him nothing, and make him expand his zone. If not, just put him on.
Let's see if we can sneak past Johan in the late innings. Having Hampton on to oppose him makes me a little bit leery about tonight, though.
Tonight's lineups... NO. NEW YORK HOUSTON 1. A. Pagan, CF M. Bourn, CF 2. L. Castillo, 2B K. Matsui, 2B 3. D. Wright, 3B M. Tejada, SS 4. J. Francoeur, RF C. Lee, LF 5. F. Tatis, LF H. Pence, RF 6. D. Murphy, 1B I. Rodriguez, C 7. O. Santos, C C. Coste, 1B 8. A. Berroa, SS J. Keppinger, 3B 9. J. Santana, P M. Hampton, P
WOW...Johan will need to pitch his heart out cause that lineup will have trouble scoring even vs Hampy! Pitch around Wright and Francoeur and ul be fine!
