And you are one of the supposedly decent Rockets fans who have to bash a player of your beloved Rockets for these fanboys? Chill, Chen.
You're citing a coach whose star player saw his new team's win total decline after leaving his hard-driving style as a reason for why you think McFail should win COY? LMFAO.
I know alot of ppl wronging LOF's for the "Mcfail" calling, but I just wanna get something out. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=213272 "Mcfail" was here long before Lin and his fans.
The term "McFail" was invented by the people most wronged by McSuccess: wolves fans. 15 years of total suckage means that this monicker was absolutely deserved. Any wolves fan reading this thread must be laughing his ass off.
We might end up being the least experienced team to make the playoffs. And it has nothing to do with Kevin McHale. According to folks here, a slug could have put us in this position. Hahahahahahahah hah.
The guy has no set plays for his team, this is well documented. I don't even know if by definition he is a "coach". He throws in the wacko rotation substitution from time to time to shake things up that have led to losses. He is in essence a harden only fan with great seats.
It's silly. Coaches do matter, no doubt, but it's silly to think McHale is holding this team back from it's full potential. Furthermore, how many wins are we truly losing from McHale 4-5 wins at the most, what? If winning is really THAT important this year it would have been a lot easier to sign a veteran that would net us more wins than to change coaching staffs. People just want the easy scapegoat.
Like I said, Lowry had his problems handling himself when dealing with STUPID bosses. It's a weakness of his and it's not very smart. He should have kept his mouth shut because it's not his problem and it didn't help anything, but I understood his frustration. That said, I probably shouldn't let slip this thrice in a lifetime opportunity to pay McHale a compliment. Hey, McHale, I am so very glad we have you as our head coach instead of Dwane Casey! SMH. I feel ya good ole Kyle. I feel ya.
Yet we are setup to be the youngest team to make the playoffs...... And those wacko rotations have led to wins....... So when we win, McHale it's in spite of him.... when we lose, it's him spiting us...?
Yesterday game versus Mark Jackson's Warriors and watching the Raptors' game renew my hope in McHale. At least I don't think he will be able to screw up the game that badly like those two coaches above. I'm still in favor of keeping McHale until next season. Keep in mind that the team's training camp was gone with Harden's signing, then when McHale finally figured out the rotation 2 of his PF and his backup PG are traded, and now he has to start over again and we're still winning important games. Let's see what we can do next season when the team is actually assembled with training camp and all.
Uggh. I really don't think so. Things a coach handles: Offensive playcalls in certain situations. Team Defense Rotations. Team Motivation We do very few offensive playcalls, and our offense is carried by having elite playmakers. Our achilles heel is a lack of savvy, consistent team defense. Our rotations are frequently poor, and sometimes downright perplexing. We DO have a strong, motivated team that doesn't give up. Give McHale some credit for that. But all in all... the only reason I see to praise McHale is that a team which is very YOUNG seems to be doing well. But it's also a team that is very talented, with heady players who succeed despite their relative youth. I really don't see McHale as any kind of Coach of the Year candidate. If that doesn't go to Pop or Thibs, it probably goes to someone like Vogel or Jackson. If the Rockets get the Six seed and then win a playoff series... maybe. But I don't think it's likely.
this is complete horsechyt to all but those without a brain. mchale can't draw up a play, mchale's questionable rotations all year have cost the rockets very winnable games. mchale has NOT ONCE taken responsibility for anything at any time. the minute he says "this one's on me" ONCE i'll have more respect for him. LOFs get mad at mchale so as a reactionary you make him out to be coach of the year. idiocy at its finest.
Yeah, Kyle really should just be a player-coach with his unlimited knowledge and steadfast leadership that he provides all the franchises that he has been involved with. And when a guy starts to have problems with multiple head coaches in the NBA, do you really think it's a problem he has with what you claim to be the stupidity of his coaches, or do you think it's an attitude problem? Because for me, it's pretty obvious that when it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and acts like a duck.... For you clowns who honestly think you know our coaches and their style... Why and how do you know more than NBA analysts (are they also stupid, or are you just incredibly brilliant from your computer chair)? Where did you play ball? I played in college, I don't feel as though I know a tenth as much basketball as coach... Coaching your kid's 7th grade team makes you a dime a dozen, not John Wooden.
No amount of Xs and Os or rotation changes that people complain about McHale could have made the 30+ point difference between the past two games. Making the players accountable for themselves, taking responsibility, understanding professionalism. You would think that those are a given in the NBA, but all you have to do is look at the Knicks tonight, Jazz tonight, even Suns. Plenty of teams play with zero professional pride and just go through the motions. McHale talked the talk the past few days, and tonight we came out and walked the walked. That's ****ing coaching.
