The look like sleep walking. McGrady not being agressive at all and the Pistons look like they don't really care.

    Pistons are just so dysfunctional.

I bet Q actually runs a play for him..

tmac getting some touches but not really doing much, a lot of double teams, also on the alley oop he could have done more defensively

    His teammates miss every layup....

He has made about 4 good passes and they continue to miss.

I hate BG as a player, but as their KEY player signed in the offseason he is getting paind 10 million for sitting on the bench.

    Q is an idiot.

Love McGrady's game but this is really the reason that he never became who he should have been. You're already being declared the number 1 player on the Pistons by some people, clearly the offense runs best through you, smartest guy on the floor Bball wise - take some initiative and rally the troops. Be a damn leader. Sadly, he's content to be a really good player who doesn't give more than he has to.

Didn't watch the game, but the boxscore tells me that Detroit lost the 2nd quarter by 16 points, they were outscored by 20 in McGrady's 11 first half minutes, and Detroit outscored the Bobcats by 11 in the fourth quarter.

I didn't watch either, but according to the boxscore he had 0 turnovers while going 1-3. It doesn't sound like that warrants getting benched, although his defense could've been the key factor. Can anyone comment on his D this game?

Doesn't matter. The fact remains that the Pistons were creamed in the 2nd quarter with him on the floor, and they played well in the second half without him. There's nothing for him to complain about. Even if he wasn't personally responsible for the crappy 2nd quarter play, the Piston found something that worked much better for them in the second half.

Durvasa, I know you're aware that correlation does not equal causation.

Actually they didnt play well in the second half, only in the fourth quarter. The third quarter was horrible, as was the 1st and 2nd.

McGrady had 3 passes to his teammates that were easy under the hoop baskets, but they either blew it or got blocked. Thats not mentioning him passing to players who miss their open jumpshots.

Kuester pulled McGrady out because he was tanking the game, at no time during the game apart from the 4th quarter did it look like detroit was even remotely close to being able to win the game

The offense clearly wasn't working with McGrady running things in the 2nd quarter. Pistons went from down 1 when McGrady entered the game, to down 21 when he left. I don't see how the coach can be blamed for going in a different direction in the 4th quarter, especially when the Pistons actually ended up rallying and making it a close ball game in the final minutes.

I'm not really sure what your point is, are you saying that the Pistons are better off without Tmac because of this one game? Despite many other games saying the opposite?

Kuester tried something, and it worked. That doesn't prove it was a smart decision, too many variables play into the game of basketball to say he made the right choice. And even if it was the correct choice, you do not know that he had proper reasoning for making this choice.

Also, they had 14 points in the second quarter. If the previous poster was right about the pistons missing gimme's that Tmac created for them (which is entirely plausible because they botch at least three great passes from him a game), then it wouldn't have been a pathetic offensive showing if these easy shots were converted.
