This is exactly my beef with this board. You guys dog him like he's been trash since day one, giving him no credit for all the good he's done on and off the court... pretty much trying to rewrite his legacy based on your bias of the recent past.

When jvg is a homer for the rockets, the board loves him. But when he's a homer for tmac, jvg's word are suddenly ignored, like there's no credibility to his statments about tmac.

This was a gesture T-Mac made after a regular season game against the Nets. Figured this thread was a very appropriate place to post that.

The hell I do. Most posters with common sense avoid paying attention to the moronic pissing contest going on here.

    T-Mac isn't a Rocket, thus I don't give a sh-t. Don't see why you do.

    Whatever

    ...

Good idea. My point was that different players are always being mentioned/commended for their good deeds on this board, but belittling Tracy's off the court efforts just because a few overzealous supporters of his rub you the wrong way is not cool.

He's dogging the rockets for not playing him more than 8 minutes, but then signs with the Pistons to play 8 minutes.

Haven't seen anything written yet about why he only played 6 minutes (none in the second half?).

We had company come over so I only saw a few minutes of the 1st half, but McGrady definitely wasn't doing anything special.

his box score was barren he had 1 assist and like 2 rebounds. He has zero shot attempts along with zero points.

I will be shocked if he makes it to December. I don't think his ego can take it.

It was coach decision. You have Gordon scoring at will and Prince doing it on both ends. Why play Tract, then?

Stop trying to get us to like T-mac, TOFs.

Yes he was good for a couple seasons with the rockets, we acknowledge this. Don't be dumb.

We also acknowledge the fact that he's been a douche for the last 2 years.

He needs to show them something. When they signed him they signed him to be a scorer off the bench. They don't need him moving the ball around IMO.

He wasn't even moving the ball around much. He's still the same old McGrady. You can tell he doesn't fit in while the Pistons are on offense. The problem is now that teams don't bother shading 2-3 guys toward him, the passing lanes he expects to be open aren't there. Not only is he a ball-stopper, he's a very ineffective ball-stopper.

The guy just can't get it through his head that he's just McGrady now instead of T-Mac. I laughed when the Pistons announcers said "T-Mac" was coming into the game.

Of course Pistons and Tracy don't fit.

Pistons were probably the only team which has won championship without a real superstar. They did it by playing together.

As you mentioned, Tracy is a ball stopper. Iverson didn't work out in Detroit and McGrady will not work either.

And it was dumb to sign him when you have Prince, Gordon, Daye, Summers, Hamilton, Stuckey etc in the backcourt.

Means he's a bench warmer player, and he's not gonna see many minutes. The 6th-8th man in a team normally get 20 or more minutes.

I'm going to the Bulls game tonight.

I'll make sure to let McGrady know about his awful mobility.

some guy has him in my fantasy league. it says "McGrady (tired legs) was scoreless in Wednesday's loss to the Nets, but did register three assists, two rebounds and two steals." LOL I've never seen that as an injury

Who the hell said it was in relation to how great a player he is/was? It was simply a story about something he did that I thought was nice, so I posted it in the thread dedicated to him this season.

Was the reply I got. First, I guess I was classified by whatever ridiculous terminology a "TOF" is, then it was intimated that the only reason I posted an article about a player setting a great charitable example is because I'm trying to "cop-out" for his deterioating basketball skills. No acknowlagment that what he did may have been a somewhat decent thing, just a single-minded focus on how much he now sucks on the court.

My god, what is wrong with you people in this thread? I mean sure, T-mac was a polorazing player on the Rockets, and I myself wanted us to get rid of him, but at least I knew once he was actively playing for another team, it was a good time to move on, get the f--k over it, and not be compelled to incessantly argue with anyone that remains a big fan of him as a player (or vice versa for folks that wanted us to keep him).

You guys are nuts. I guess next time I'll read the thread before posting something based on its title. I'm out of this thread like y'all's perspective.

Funny to see that now that he's on an entirely different team, with a thread correctly dedicated to that team, people are still debating over how much they need to like/hate Tracy McGrady.

He's still an NBA player, and will be discussed as such. His on court play. His off the court actions. But if you hate him and would ONLY rather criticize other people's opinions of him, please do the adults a favor and go bury your head in the sand somewhere else.
