I don't think he has missed any games but he didn't return for the second half against the Bucks because of soreness.

Impressive. I haven't been following the Pistons much this year. I really didn't know.

nice try to twist what i wrote around there. i said t-mac has taken a fraction of lee's shots (about 2/3) and that he only has shot a handful of free throws (19).

Why are you comparing the number of ft's shot? It's too small a sample for either one.

    oh yeah
    *smile* ??

Why is he still trotting this business out? He played the second half of last season! As a starter!

Did that somehow not count? Or is he saying that he just had a longer offseason than the rest of the league? Will he still be saying this next month?

McGrady Wants Offense Run Through Him
    Posted: 12/1/2010 6:01:00 AM
Source: Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press

(Tracy) McGrady's best moments as a Piston have come when he is running the offense through pick-and-roll situations or isolations -- the stuff (Dwyane) Wade and (LeBron) James used to reach superstar status.

A prime example was McGrady's 13-point second quarter in Sunday's overtime loss to the Knicks.

"That's just the type of player that I am," McGrady said before Tuesday night's game against the Magic. "In order for me to do that consistently, I need to be involved as I was in that game -- in that second quarter."

Earlier this season, as McGrady worked himself into basketball shape after missing most of the exhibition season to rest his surgically repaired left knee, he wasn't a focal point of the offense. He was used as more a catch-and-shoot guy, which is not his game.

"It's never been," McGrady said. "The offense has always been ran through me. It's not necessarily bringing the ball up the court, but it's going through me. I was able to create double-teams, and when you have a guy create double-teams and make basketball plays, that's where you want to run your offense through."

Well, Pistons running offense through McGrady wouldn't be bad for them at all. Especially with Gordon and Charlier on the floor at the same time.

The thing for Tracy, he has to be more agressive. Sure, he usually makes great decisions when he has the ball, but sometimes it just seems like he doesn't want it.

So it is on the coach to do that more often (Pistons are playing better, because Tracy can actually PASS) but it is also on Tracy. I know, one night he plays 18 minutes, the other one he plays 28.

But I blame him as well. He needs to be consistent. That's the key. Like against the Knicks. He was pretty phenomenal in the 2nd quater, not only scoring but first of all, PASSING.

Than in the 2nd half he was a completly different player. He called it a sore leg.

So if he wants that role, I am sure Pistons will be ok with that. But they need that role every minute he is on the court, not only in the 2nd period.

Tracy, STFU and play. You're getting better, but still you only scored 10+ TWICE this season.

McGrady needs to let his play do the talking, for once, and shut his pie-hole.

If he speaks up like that again, the coach should put him in his place and just bench him for an entire game. This is ridiculous.

t-mac is just speaking the truth.

imagine if t-mac never drew that double team and kicked it out to steve novak for 3 against the kings. we never would have had a 22-game win streak!

thank god for tracy mcgrady. without him, we would have less good memories as a rockets fan.

ummm...how about the fact that he is requesting the offense go through a guy that doesn't even start, is averaging like 4 ppg, and can't play more then 15 min a game?

I assume you're referring to this, in which I do not see a request. Nor do I see any statement that is actually false.

I think the notion that he can create double teams is pretty ridiculous.

It's happened consistently off the pick and roll, and he usually finds an open three. Whether or not he's deserving of a double team is a different story.

You are right but the problem is that he isn't that T-Mac that he was before. You always bring up good accomplishments he had here (which I have fond memories of) but they are irrelevant to the kind of player he is today.

he still draws doubles when he posts up and penetrates. it's when he isos on the perimeter that he doesn't anymore.
