It's easier to play in low post when you are old. Speed doesn't matter much there. Power and footwork are still there in 30s.

MJ at 40, beefed up and played SF. He had the tools. TMac was never efficient in the post for his career, and he won't pick up new skills in his 30s. Court vision and passing can only do so much, it's not a threat if you can't penetrate or hit the open jumper. And a contender won't use TMac's service as he plays no defense.

    Las Vegas loves Tmac.

and if Tmac fans are willing to wager that Tmac averages 15 points this year, then Las Vegas loves Tmac fans.

It is harder coming back form the surgery than he thought.
I wonder would it have been better for him to 'tough' through it.

    Remember Penny before and After
    it was night and day.

    18. Normally the earliest guys try to play again is 9 months, and they typically go back on the shelf soon after.

To his credit, he wasn't half bad last night. Made an earnest effort.

for all the mcgrady followers. just need to find back some type of offense. passing is still elite. defense was actually pretty damn good.

It seems like even if he blows by his guy, he seems not confident enough to go to the hoop...

Maybe he thinks, wow, I barely drove by that guy, I'll just pass it out..

More on McGrady later, but it had to be the most satisfying zero-point game of his career, not that he has many on his resume. It was a performance filled with terrific passes and heady defensive plays and moments that no statistics have been devised to measure, and it gives the Pistons their first compelling evidence that McGrady can, indeed, become the significant factor they hoped when Joe Dumars landed him for the veteran’s minimum over the summer.

“Tracy did a nice job,” Kuester said of his 14-minute stint that included two steals, two rebounds and three assists – it should have been at least five but for two Maxiell point-blank misses. “He came in and played within himself and then got others involved and made the extra pass. He got some loose balls. Tracy is a work in progress right now. He understands that. But he came in and helped us.”

There was a play in the fourth quarter that spoke volumes for what McGrady brings to the table. He was posting up; Bynum had the ball in the corner, but Morrow was fronting him, so he directed Bynum to throw the ball to Gordon outside the free-throw line. McGrady used his body to pin Morrow and created a passing lane for Gordon, who made the easy pass to McGrady – who redirected it to Maxiell for an uncontested layup

mcgrady actually impacts this team despite not scoring b/c none of the pistons can pass for crap

Uh, so McGrady still has his skills that don't require athleticism/explosiveness...mindblowing analysis...

for sure, for sure. tmac definitely can be a defensive stopper when he puts his mind to it.

tmac is the best wing player they have right now.

    Wow.

Tracy McGrady is truly a world-class citizen. He's already initiated his own massive humanitarian effort to solve a negletected problem in Darfur..now he's helping others too in areas he can't put his personal effort into.

T-Mac. A great player in every single way.

Its to be applauded with the maximum salutation.

    *cheers*

Haven't you heard? People don't care what he does off the court. It doesn't matter that he's been one of the NBA's biggest humanitarians. Positive news doesn't go over well over here. Where is the hate in positive stories? Its no fun. The only thing that matters is what he does on the court. According to people here, McGrady is the Black Irish version of Hitler.
