I'm actually probably in the minority and actually hopes T-Mac does well as his career winds down. But how can you not understand that T-Mac made a lot of Rockets fans turn on him with the way he ended his stay here. Francis didn't bring us anywhere close to being a contender but nobody talks negatively about him.

when a tmac fans says that, it's attempt to put him the same league as much better players who haven't won a championship.

it has nothing to do with being a Rockets fan.

Rockets fans want success and any bit of success will make them happy.
why are they happy when they win? cause they are REALLY ROCKETS FANS, they care about TEAM.

To be fair, although Tmac never led the rockets to pass the 1st round, the rockets team was fun to watch and always gave rockets fans hope during that period.

wow....nice dunk by tmac tonight. definitely old school.

still only six points. he needs to stop shooting threes and make his damn free throws.

You are becoming a spurs fan?!

Have you realized that you were a rockets fan and watched the rockets games when Tmac was here? In fact, you are a Tmac fan. Don't deny it!

But, why did you still talked about Tmac so much in this Tmac thread?

i agree with you that any bit of success makes rockets fans happy. that's why people are so ecstatic about a 2nd round playoff appearance.

but using that same logic, isn't making the playoffs some sort of success? what about a 22-game win streak?

would we have even made the playoffs in 2005, 2007, and 2008 without t-mac?

Tmac on the Rocket era provided us some big time hope even though we failed as a team at the end. It gave us confidence especially with Yao and Tmac at full strength to win Houston another championship. Sadly, the injuries kept on derailing them and ended bad especially for Mcgrady.

I dont think McGrady time with the Rockets was really bad except the ending (08-09).

Btw, I felt McGrady should of shut it down for the season mid way through the 22 game winning streak. Yao was going to be out for the season. Tmac was playing through a knee injury and should of just called it quits mid season to give him more time to rehab. Oh well, you can't go back.

Missed it. Whenever I tune in to a Pistons game, he always looks really bad. I guess I just keep missing the good parts.

But using your logic that anything less than a championship is not a success (which I have no problem with), you can't call T-Mac's time here a success.

dude there are epic threads in clutchfans history about the playoff series.

the one where we lost game 7 at toyota center which lead to JVG's exit was the worst of the worst.

JVG built that team that heavily relied on Tmac and Yao. But they couldn't do it. it's not that hard to figure out, they weren't good enough with those two, those two couldn't carry a team. next kobe and shaq? oh hell no.

they went with Rick and we tried building a team with more even talent and that relied less on tmac/yao and it proved to work on the 22 game winning streak (too much credit for tmac from you guys and completely forgetting the gems of Scola/brooks/landry/rafer) and the playoff victory against portland proved it.

i don't believe the Rockets are that far off, they are one player away from turning it around.

lol c'mon, like you come here to talk about the pistons. you, like everyone else in this thread, like it or not, want to see how T-Mac does this season. Whether you do it to praise him or laugh at him, people are obviously paying attention to what he does this year. Some want him to fail and some want him to succeed. One thing is for sure, nobody gives a rats ass about the Pistons. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Good to see him get better. Hard to believe he's younger than Kobe and Nash etc. Hope to see him get back some of his explosiveness

I second that, I really really wanted to see T-mac and Yao work. I thought their chemistry was special
