Strongly disagree. His last two seasons were shameful, and one of the most childish/selfish displays I've ever seen in the NBA.

And that's exactly what he refused to do his last two years. Two seasons ago, we had a talented roster that was able to carry the load and let him sit back and slowly work himself back in. He refused "to acknowledge his limitations" and torpedoed the team with his insistence on resting on defense so he could be a ball-stopping black hole on the perimeter, chuck bad shots to the tune of 7-17 nights, and complain about his touches after the game.

Had he pulled himself back and taken the approach he's taken now, I would give him full praise. Had he sat out the entire season to get his microfracture surgery and rehab it, I wouldn't hold it against him like I don't hold injuries against Yao.

    Agreed.

Too bad he's realizing this 2 years and $40M too late for us.

Talking about last season, Tracy McGrady was 100% wrong and it doesn't matter if you like him or not. The guy claimed many, many times that he is 100% healthly and ready to go, and once he was allowed to even play 40 minutes in New York, he couldn't handle 25 minutes a game. It made him completly silly in my opinion.

Rockets did the right move. I think he still felt like that superstar player last year. Remember, he was earning 23 million dollars. After the offseason where he BARELY found a new home in the NBA (he should be on his knees for that) he found out he could berely make vet minimum which means nobody was serious about him. And it wasn't really about his play.

I think he has finally accepted that. He is taking his time, he is accepting his role. I know one thing, if he still has something, he will show it. If not, than he won't. But at least it is fair.

this is pretty amazing.. not the shot.

    1. someone actually made a video of this because of tmac
    2. this is the only field goal he made the whole game

    http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=301117008

    3. check out that scoreboard, this is what we call "garbage time"

this is pretty low for even tmac fans. a regular jumper in garbage time is worth watching?

what happened to 13 points in 3 seconds or when he scored a billion points in garbage time with the magic or when he dunks ?

sorry, I thought when I clicked on the highlight of a "sweet shott"
I thought it would be something better than a plain jumper in garbage time.

can't wait for the "sweet dribblee" highlight or "sweet passss" (aka inbounds pass or basic bounce pass)

Don't forget the "sweet move" highlight when T-Mac gets off the bench.

He's played single digit minutes more often than he has 22+ and he's averaging 16 a game. Only crossed the 22 minute mark once in the last 6 games.

    9
    18
    8
    21
    26
    4

He's an 8th man at best right now, it's not totally unfair for someone to call him a bench warmer.

Well actually tinman is right. People are making something out of nothing.

'Did you see? He made a tough off the dribble jumper with the hand in his face. You can tell he is BACKKKK!'

You kinda klick look and it is a normal jumper. Bryant is making 10 of them per game. Tracy used to do it as well.

Is he progressing? sure. But he is pretty bad especially looking at statistics

I've always had the notion a benchwarmer was someone who only came in during Garbage time. Jared Jeffries, Jermaine Taylor, etc.
