I like this quote. He would never ever be that player again but he needs this motivation to work as hard as he can, to continue to work hard and he would progress in athletic aspects from week to week if he will work as hard as possible

He shouldn't stop doing that. He shows some excellent strides of leaping ability, first step and speed at some moments and he needs to do that with consistency

If he needs this kind of motivation (back to Elite Status or some other shet) - I'm OK with that if this gonna pay off

Wish he could just stop talking about going back in form.

Just play the rest of the season, play 82 games, that should be his true goal.

Another goal should be playing more consistently. He's been really consistent the last 3 games which is a great sign.

I think he has a big time chance to get to 2007-2008 form if he continues to improve and play at the consistent level.

if he can regain his 07 form, that pistons team is a top 6 team in the east pretty easily.

    that's a huge if

come on. 07|08 version of McGrady guaranteed him a perennial MVP candidate status, best season for Rockets in term of number of wins in regular season after Hakeem and Barkley inside dominance, 22 game winning streak and he was not even close to 100% in the second part of the season

It would never happen, cause 07|08 version of McGrady can sign 15M per year contract without a doubt  He needs from ten to twenty miracles in the same time to return on the same form

actually - that is an interesting question.

I thought the 07/08 McGrady was less the athletic talent - due to the need for the knee and shoulder surgical remedies - but maybe the best McGrady as a basketball player.

Someone else might have the stats - but my impression is that season was heads and shoulders his best at all around assist/play making.

The last couple of games - I think he has 18 assists and 2 turnovers - which are elite status numbers. It really is becoming a great story to see how far back he can come from microfracture surgery.

I think athletically, McGrady has a solid chance to be in 07-08 form.

He still has a good first step and he seems to be improving a lot on his ability to drive inside.

Maybe in 08 form? Yes, maybe, if you would take his lucky ticket

But in the first part of the season, in 2007, he was very athletic anc aggresive, but ******* injuries forced him to become a jumpshooter and passer again

    Oh yea.

At the beginning of the season, he looked like he was going to have an MVP type year. He was #1 on the MVP rankings in the first 2 weeks averaging 29 points/5 assists/5rebounds.

I'm talking about the playoff version with a better shot selection

He has the body of 2007/2008 season, but his shooting form is off, if many of you rmr that season he was shooting 44% before leg/knee injury. He thought has been solid at attacking the hole, he hasn't settled too often this season, and that he's showing some nice footwork too, there was that shot last game against Miller that was absolutely vintage. But he's an amazing play-maker, he can easily be a top 8ish point guard in this league if he continues playing that position. He controls the pace of the game so well, the tempo is HIS tempo, he creates very well, and he's an absolute mis-match at 6'8.

I expect a big night from T-Mac. He plays harder against his former teams.

It's going to be a repeat performance of his game against Orlando. 20-7-5

    Beat those Knicks!

Good point. As long as his legs are feeling good, he should post another good line. Hopefully they get the win so it improves our pick from the Knicks!

Hes playing pretty good right now.

Anybody notice he seems like he has that step in him even though he can't beat Landy Fields at times???

He seems pretty quick to me.
