What is this thread about?

It went from T-Mac/Pistons to T-Mac rockets history, TOF vs. YOF, and now 99ers?

    I think I understand now.

tinman, you used to be a respectable poster on Clutchfans before Tracy McGrady came along and ruined your life. Now people don't see your name and think, "Oh hey it's Clutchfans' resident historian." They think, "Oh hey it's that guy who needs to post in every McGrady thread." Because of this, you feel the need to keep repeating the same arguments over and over again. They get nowhere every time, but it allows you to diffuse your pent-up frustration towards McGrady for ruining your reputation. Problem is, this only further damages what little reputation you have left, but it makes you feel better so you continue on regardless.

You hold on to your join date and past "accomplishments" on a messaging board to remind yourself of what you once were, similar to how washed-up athletes feel the need to tell everyone how amazing they were, back in the day. ('99) Washed-up athletes don't come off nearly as pathetic as you do however, namely because they actually accomplished something at one point. You make obscure pop-culture references in an attempt to keep yourself relevant, hip, cool. You tote around your join date as if it makes you better than everyone else. Let me ask you this, did Hakeem go around proclaiming "84er for life"? Is Ralph Sampson or Manute Bol a better player than Hakeem because they repped DRAFT CLASS '83 YAY-YAEEEEE?
Was the first player in the NBA better than Michael Jordan simply because he was there first?

Look, we've been down this road a thousand times with the same result. When someone gives you a lesson on argumentation, you resort to pulling out your "99er" card and label them a TOF, eventually posting a picture of a baby crying as if to prove some sort of inane point. It's predictable, terribly uncreative and I can see it coming already. So please, spare us. We know what you're going to say. I'm sure you have better things to do with your time anyway, like maybe watching the Pistons' season...oh wait.

Who the heck cares about that? It's completely irrelevant to anything about

    a) the Rockets
    b) Tracy McGrady
    c) any of the posters here RIGHT NOW

IRRELEVANT. As Irrelevant as for example the fact that you are registered here since 1999. Who cares?

The fact you are doing this crusade shows that you are a big man-child with serious issues. Same goes for jo mama. I come here to check some highlights of how T-Mac's doing and all I see is your stupid mind numbingly monotonous debate about who the biggest Rockets fan is. Let's fix this once and for all: no one gives a ****, since it's completely irrelevant.

Let's talk about relevant things. Start one of your threads about the good times in the nineties and stop acting like an adolescent. You are clearly not one (and you're proud of it).

This whole debate is simply dull and it is like debating about religion. Makes no sense. In fact debating about religion is at least relevant. Get a life.

Yeah you met some interesting people and supported the rockets just like I have. I've met many NBA players as well, Tracy himself, franchise, Glen Davis, former NBA players as well, such as draft bust BUT a very well charactered man in Steve Stipanovich who's had no issues with sharing stories and tokens he has about the legends, (Hakeem, Clyde, Magic and Jordan). I've met NBA hopefuls who've recently played Rubio and were teammates to Luis Scola. The fact is though you've done this and that but you completely ignored my main points in my post. I respect you as a poster and a person but that respect dwindles as you go on a T-Mac which hunt. You perseute posters, defend your own credibility with useless facts and your supposed rockets patriotism. It's really not worth the effort and you should move on, take in to account, the saying to each his own. Yeah I'm a newer poster and a heck of a lot younger but the fact that I've avoided petty Internet trolling and when I've had said anything bad about players or others I move on, don't take it personally and most important of all (again)move on. You can't do any o those things it seem. Re-read my other post and tell me my points about ignorance aren't correct, tell me with honest reflection and simple ethics that it's completely credible to waste time bashing a player, other posters and to scoweer this thread waiting for what people have said in response all so you can do the exact same things, A) pull out your experience, B) bring up your supposed superior Rockets fandom, C) attack some one for their grammar mistakes D) comparing Player X to player Y and not allowing individuals to have their free choice to like said player in player X and you likin player y so it not only makes them less of a rockets fan but less of a person.

I support Tracy Mcgrady because he made the game of basketball, specifically in Houston great for me to watch as I am a young fan. I'm sure Clyde, Hakeem, Sampson and many others have done the same for man people across the decades that he rockets have been around.

I also think its endearing that Tracy matured; he came off the bench, took a pay cut and accepted his role. Sure he's done so slowly and you can argue he still puts his foot in his mouth but the fact is the guy did eventually change. I garuntee you a team will pick him up this summer, and his pistons teammates will miss him just like the ones in Houston who were fond of him do and did.

Tracy was also valuable for les. He put asses in seats and sold rockets merchandise like crazy.

I'm recommending you give up and with he last shreds of decency you have in your self to simply ignore this thread and quit the useless Internet war you've ceased.

With allthe effort you put into typing and countering people at the end of the day, you're "work" and effort isn't converting anyone or giving anyone epiphanies.

Oh and to make you feel better, I garuntee to that right at this moment there is some kid who has, or is currently and probably will he awe-inspired by Tracy and as a result inspired whether it be by his you tube videos or the highlight reels he's conducting (even at a slower rate) up north in Detroit.

There are tons of fans here who support former players. There are Artest fans, moochie fans and now maybe Yap fans (knock on wood and hopefully he makes a comeback). Point is the guy isn't app that hated, for every user namedt-slack and she-Mac there's a 'tmac is awesome' user. You're analogy with the black panthers is also pretty bad. The black panthers would have went into that bar because the 'black panthers' were fearless and dealt with ignorance and tolerance head on. Many went to jail, are still in jail, Or have been permanently injured for literally fighting for their beliefs.

'my grandfather' tells me t-Mac stories and I'm at the eager kid who listens closely and loves each time he tells them. Whats great though as for being 'that kid' I cam still see the man of my grandfathers myth and lore, and see him make an attempt at a comeback.

A quitter is someone who gave up right? Not someone who invested the efforts to rehab himself, to hire an extraordinary trainer and work against the odds to overcome what he almost and at times did quit upon. He went from beig an elite player to an underdog and you know what? People love underdogs and comeback stories.

You should've bolded the whole quote. That write-up was worth a double facepalm-kickflip underflip combo.

    Rep'D.

Now let's ignore the crusaders and persecutioners and see what Tracy does next assuming that Rip is gone and he gets nothing BUT more playing time.

Lol. I'm a rockets fan in China. But I have no interest in meeting you (unless you are actually a good-looking chick.) Your so-called "achievements" are so trivial and pointless that I don't know whether I should laugh at the stupidity or bemoan the time I've lost in reading them.

I bet tinman uses that as his pick-up line to show the girls where it's at.

Methinks that your tinman identity is superceding your real life identity!

The problem with Tracy's story line and your grandfather's story is that it's false, Fools Gold.
There are many other great stories and much better characters. Tracy's story is of a very talent player that's heart was two sizes to small. The End.

There are many other stories in the NBA and many on the currents Rockets team. Tracy did nothing for the Rockets while he was here, but cause pain. If your grand father was wise he'd told you of other countless heros, then you'd see what a joke Tracy is.

BTW my analogy about the Black Panthers going into a Redneck bar or Vice Versa. IS kinda like a hot stove, you just don't touch it or you get bunt.

At first I was just half joking, but now I fully realize how pathetic your life must be.

Calling yourself a superstar of a basketball forum...lol.

    Congratulations! You win
