Almost? Last season, T-Mac played 30 games, while Martin played 46 games.
Two seasons ago, T-mac played 35 and Martin played 51 games.

    That's like 50% better!

Watched some of the Pistons game tonight, Tracy looked pretty good running the point. He was efficient, played the role well of running the O, not the same aggressive player of course.

The guy will never be what he was, he'll probably never be fast again, he's just slow. Also, he sucks on defense, easily get's blown by, and avoids contact.

But, he can still be a good player.
Shown signs of better elevation...like the Toronto and Dallas dunks...at moments shows some speed.

    Eh.

An article on Tracy's performance tonight and why he should be the Pistons starting PG over Stuckey.

I don't know if he is but the pistons just beat a very good Boston team with McGrady at the point. I think he was injured.

Constant energy - McGrady has been relentless of both ends of the court this season. He brings it on every play.

While it's nothing more than a personal assessment, there's been a number of games this season where Stuckey has looked apathetic on the court. Perhaps he's unhappy with the Pistons' scheme or pace, but he hasn't always displayed the energy you need to see from your floor general. [/rquoter]

    That can't be right.

    [rquoter]
A consistent jumper - It's his fourth year in the league, and you have to wonder if Rodney Stuckey will ever develop a consistent jump shot.

Every training camp he tells us he spent the summer working on his mid-range game, but it never translates on the court. This season Stuckey is shooting under 30 percent on shots from 16-feet and beyond.

McGrady, on the other hand, has a jumper that ranges from consistent to lethal. On the season, he's shooting better than 43 percent from the same 16-feet and beyond range. Against the Celtics, he drained six of his nine jumpers. [/rquoter]

    McGrady? Consistent Jumper?

    [rquoter]
The ability to run an offense - Stuckey point guard skills have definitely improved this season, but he's still wildly inconsistent at the position. He relies on his teammates making perimeter shots to pick up the majority of his assists.

McGrady controls the pace of the offense, sees the entire court and has shown the ability to utilize each of his teammates' strengths. Like many of the better point guards in the league, McGrady picks up lion's share of his assists by setting up his teammates for easy baskets at the rim.

Maybe it's a sign of maturity, but McGrady embraces his role as a facilitator.

"It was my job to get us organized on the basketball court from the start," McGrady said after the victory. "That's what I wanted to do. I wanted to get some guys going."

His teammates clearly feel confident with McGrady bringing the ball up court.

"I think when McGrady is running the point, he understands what we have to do at what times in the game," Tayshaun Prince said. "He showed great patience for us in our offense when we needed to get a good shot when Boston was coming back. It just comes with experience, and he was able to provide that."

Coach John Kuester also praised McGrady, focusing on the job he did sharing the basketball.

"Sometimes you forget how good he is, but he was so unselfish," Kuester said. "That's the thing that impressed me so much is how he moves the basketball and does the little things."

Despite all of these factors, it seems highly unlikely the Pistons make the switch. Everything still suggests that Stuckey is part of the franchise's future, while McGrady, a 31-year-old veteran, may only be here for one season.

Who would blame McGrady if he bolts this offseason for a contender offering a mid-level exception contract?

Still, Kuester should consider a temporary switch. If nothing else, it will give the Pistons a better chance to string together a few wins. And, who knows, maybe it will light a fire under Stuckey to work harder at being the type of point guard the Pistons need going forward.
    [/rquoter]

Well, he got 1 out of 3 right.

After watching the game tonight I think there may be hope for Tracy. He looked great. He was passing the ball like J kidd getting all of his teammates easy shots. But what really caught my eye is when I saw him drive pass Ray Allen with his first step he made it look easy. This was the best game I've seen from Tracy in a long time. I hope he can keep it up, would be nice to see him become a nice player again.

Yes he did. He was moving pretty well the whole game. And he played the PG role pretty nice as well.

Durvasa, I'm assuming he is talking about McGrady of this year.

It actually looks like his jumpshot is falling consistently this year..

He's probably better left handed at this point of his career.

He still needs to man up and go right!

Tracy is makeing some steady Progress. Dumars has to know the season is lost if he is smart he will flip Tracys minmum contract to a team under the cap for assets that can improve the Pistons long term.

If McGrady keeps this up we will be able to snag a 2 to 3 year deal to the team of his choice.

I bet the Bulls are feeling salty right now they could have got Tracy for peanuts and now if they want him they will have to give up something of Value.

Im not a TOF but I think the Nba is better with a healthy Tmac in it.

I would like to see how Chris Paul or Carmelo Anthony play with Kevin Martin.

He's happy with the Pistons. He had a good game. Didn't you say that Tmac was the reason why you watched the Rockets? Now here's a new team, the Pistons, they have a pretty good history too.

he is shooting 43% from 16ft and out prior to this game. he went 6 of 9 from 16ft and out tonight. his J is definitely more consistent.

however, tracy is definitely more selective with his jump shots. he took kobe-like shots in his prime mind you.

he had several very good games in the past week

Author wrote these appraisals of McGrady relative to Stuckey. He does bring a more consistent jumper and is more energetic than Stuckey. You don't watch the games so you wouldn't know that. There aren't any stats to measue enthusiasm on the court.

I suspect the limited minutes contribute significantly to his energetic outings (well, more energetic than Stuckey at least). Hopefully, he keeps it up even with increased minutes.

Yea I know but this was the first one I watched with my own eyes. I really thought Tracy was done but now it look like he may have a chance to be a good player again. I just hope he can stay healthly.
