Stadium started to get full, but there were plenty of empty seats, which is surprising for a home opener. The 6 game road trip and the 1-5 record certainly didn't help.

God I miss those days when the stadium was electric, when every game mattered.

The new video board looks nice though.

Ya, I noticed some were empty. But the game was SOLD out. 41K IIRC. Of course, that doesn't mean all the joeshmoes showed up.

Could easily be 4-4...the one area I thought would be our backbone has been our downfall so far.

Norris is the Jordan Hill of the Stros, the guy shows flashes, even stretches, of what he can truly do but just can't keep it going for long periods of time.

Could easily be 0-8 as well. This team sucks pretty much in all phases of the game. I don't see it getting much better moving forward.

It's called being a fan. Following your team, no matter how much they suck.

Like most people around here, the band wagon fans will be aboard when this team finally turns it around.....not any time soon though.

They suck donkey balls.....but it's not like there will be anything worth watching anytime soon in the Rockets camp. Another...long baseball season.

True but they've held leads of 4-0 twice and 4-1 in 3 of their losses. Even with Norris' unfortunate sixth tonight, the bullpen has cost the club dearly this season. To long of a season to make a conclusion out of the first eight games but this is a rebuilding club anyway.

Yep. I have watched the Stros every since 81, and don't plan on giving up now. I support all my hometown teams, win or lose.

They have been "rebuilding" for the 4 years since Ed Wade has gotten here. In all honesty, the farm system has gotten a little better since he has been here but that isn’t saying much. Still severely lacks top prospects at all levels. The best prospect is Jordan Lyles and he isn’t considered an elite prospect by those follow minor league baseball. I still have no idea why JD Martinez at the age of 23 is repeating AA after hitting .302 there last year in a half season. It’s not like the Astros are loaded with top outfield prospects at AAA. I hope if Jim Crane buys the team he cleans house and brings in his own people. Start with getting ridding of Tal Smith and Ed Wade. Crane played college ball so he probably knows more baseball than most owners.

They didn't really start rebuilding 4 years ago. They acquired Carlos Lee in 2007 and Tejada in 2008, neither of which were rebuilding moves. They barely got anyone in the 2007 draft.

It was really last year, when they traded Berkman and Oswalt. If they really had started rebuilding 4 years ago, we'd be much better off, but what's done is done.

Why rush JD Martinez when you have Lee/Bourn/Pence?
