have said it many times over the years but it bears repeating: the guy is the absolute perfect bench player a team can have.

I don't feel like looking it up but didn't Blum hit a dinger against us in the WS?

Yup, steady glove, a swtich-hitter and apparently, a clutch hitter.

I know your not a Feliz supporter but I thought he would do well with the team however I also thought Blum would play some at 3b, not a straight platoon but something close. I hope they start to use Blum a little more to spell Feliz, should help both players.

Sort of a line drive shot over the right field fence, right?

I am sure that they will do just that as the season goes along, esp. since Blum is most effective as a left-handed hitter while Feliz is less effective against RHP.

I remember somebody hitting a line drive over the right field wall in that series. It must have been somebody else in a different game.

I believe that the one I'm thinking of came off of an Astacio pitch.

you might be right, actually. was thinking that right after i responded. can't find a video of it, but it's slowly materializing in my memory after blocking it out for all these years.

I don't remember exactly but I only recall Lyon having two bad outings and the rest have been solid. I know he is OVERPAID but if he can be a shutdown 8th inning guy that will do fine.

It may have been Crede's HR but yea, no use in talking too much about that frustrating series. Outscored by only 7 runs total and we couldn't win a single game.

Yup, that's two consecutive good outings.

The things is with relief pitching that the basic numbers rarely tell the whole story. A good RP can end up with a not so good ERA but the advanced stats will point to him just having an unlucky season while a bad pitcher can end up with a good ERA by virtue of considerable luck.

Oh well, he's our guy now so I guess there is no point in crying about it like I've done a few times.

I think I was at a bar with a co-worker at the time.

We were at the same bar when Pujols pwned Lidge.

In retrospect, maybe I shouldn't have returned to that bar.
