**** you Garner. Why the hell did you wait this long to take him out??

He clearly doesn't have it, so why risk injury??? Dumbass.

plus Andy's on my fantasy team, haha

i think he was hoping andy would get through 5...esp w/the bottom of the lineup coming through there after the first 3 runs in the 5th. didn't count on them getting on also...or on mitre nearly homering..etc. ugh

and to the rolling eyes at my post earlier..learn about sarcasm, then come back

Can we maybe score one freaking earned run before the end of the second game of the season. You know against a team with a 15mil dollar pay roll.

I wonder if Clemens is going to sign with another team after witnessing this.

If anything...this will make Clemens come back and bail out his buddy Andy. ;)

This will make no difference it is one bad game.

I don't like clemens but I would rather not like him on the Astros.

When did the Florida minor leagues learn how to hit? Maybe they should give the Astros some hitting pointers before tomorrows game.

hmm didn't realize that clemens hasn't decided on coming back yet.

time for management to execute "hold rogers family for ransom" plan.

Well they have the all-minor league team. They basically raided every team in the country and took their top prospects for Florida's starters from last year. So its just a big group of top minor league talent.

I'm thinking of starting a poll on when the Astros will get their first RBI.

When do you think the Astros will get their first RBI?

    A. Today Duh!
    B. Wed game vs Marlins
    C. Fri game vs Washington
    D. Sat game vs Washington
    E. Sun game vs Washington
    F. Not going to happen this week, look to the future....

I'm going to start this if we don't score today..... :(

Not to hit the panic button this early, but I hope Purpura and company weren't banking on another magical comeback this season.

There are some glaring weaknesses that are going to show up just like tonight...we added a hitter, but Wilson is another high strikeout, low OBP hitter like Lane. Taveras and Lane still have very poor plate discipline. Biggio is a year older of course. Nobody is setting the table for our power guys, Lance and Morgan. We really could've used Bagwell for more than sentimental reasons.

The scary part is the rotation. At least for the first half of the season (w/out Clemens), Oswalt is the only guy that is truly dependable. Pettitte has been a second-half/postseason guy for his whole career. Backe is going to have to step it up, and we're going to have to get something out of the 4 and 5 spots.

Like I said, I hate panicking as much as anyone when it's this early...but I'm pointing out potential long term weaknesses.
